a Short Review on ibd Jet Elite UV Lamp

Can’t do my gel nails without a UV lamp. After doing a research I had my eyes on the ibd Jet Elite. It retailed for over 300 but I got it for a good deal.

I only used it for several times but all I can say is you get what you pay for. Except for it’s not a LED lamp, the Jet Elite pretty much does everything.

Surprisingly the lamp is very light and compact. I can lift it up with only one hand. It comes with four 9 watt UV bulbs and a removable tray with reflector. According to ibd website, the four bulbs are strategically positioned so the nails get maximum exposure. That way every nail cure thoroughly and evenly. The two blue oval shaped placement is for thumb positioning.

The built-in timer has 5 settings. Pushing the UV button will leave the lamp on until it’s cancelled. For the other settings, the timer only starts when the tray is pushed in. I only feel a very light burning effect when using the 3 minute cure (I don’t use the 4 minute cure). But other than that it works really well.

Overall I’m very pleased with ibd Jet Elite. Pretty soon I will get myself some soak off gel systems. The ones I’m interested in are the Orient Collection and Gelac. Orient collection has some really cool colors like Shanghai Moon (orange yellow), Jade Dragon (verde green), Silk Kimono (deep red) and Cherry Blossom (pale pink). Gelac is ibd’s newest creation which looks like a nail polish. It lasts 2 weeks and only takes 10 minutes to remove.

They use this kind of lamp when I get my gel nails done. I love how quickly and well it sets the nails and nailpolish.
