Annick Goutal Parfums Reveals ‘LE MIMOSA’

NEW YORK, NY – (November 18th, 2010) This Spring, Annick Goutal Parfums announces the launch of Le Mimosa, the newest creation from perfumers Camille Goutal and Isabelle Doyen. Le Mimosa is the latest in the perfume house’s highly successful series of “Soliflore” or single-note fragrances. Combining endless imagination and unmatched olfactory skill, the perfume duo offers us their own perception of this floral theme, one which they have been keen to explore for several years.

According to Camille Goutal, “The yellow mimosa is common in the south of France, and throughout the Mediterranean, but blooms for only a short period of time each Spring. The aroma is so wonderful that we were inspired to make its distinctive scent available for women to wear at any time of year.

Built around a mimosa absolute from the Grasse region of France, sweet floral hues punctuated by Florentine iris and anise are added to enhance the flower’s natural facets with their powdery strength. At the heart of the composition is the peach, with its sweet, fleshy undertones and fruity essence – both of which adorn the mimosa with an unprecedented radiance. Finally, white musk and sandalwood carefully wrap this soft, single-flower perfume in a silky, milky and deliciously addictive blanket.

In a design created by Camille Goutal, the packaging features a bright yellow base interposed by jet-black polka dots. Adorning both the sleeve and ribbon of the famous ribbed bottle, the pattern draws its inspiration from the gaiety of the yellow mimosa and the graphic impact of the black dots. A symbolic evocation of the flower’s color and its characteristic pom-pom shape, the design suggests the colorful, playful aesthetic of the 1980’s.

The Le Mimosa range includes a 3.4 oz Eau de Toilette spray priced at $115.00 USD and a 1.7 oz Eau de Toilette for $80.00 USD.  The fragrance will be available on March 1st, 2011 at Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Annick Goutal Parfums is an upscale perfumery house, guided by the values of its creator. In 1980, Annick Goutal opened a small boutique on Rue de Bellechasse in Paris, where she presented her creations to a growing clientèle. In 1985, the association of Annick Goutal Parfums with the Taittinger group affiliated the company with the famed champagne house thereby establishing Annick Goutal Parfums as a true luxury perfumery house. In 1999, Annick Goutal passed away at the age of 53. The following year marked a new chapter for Annick Goutal Parfums when Brigitte Taittinger entrusted Camille Goutal (Annick Goutal’s daughter) and Isabelle Doyen, Annick Goutal’s perfume partner since 1988, with the task of developing new fragrances.  Since then, creations such as Songes, Un Matin d’Orage and the latest global success, Ninféo Mio, have broadened the brand’s portfolio. In September 2005, Starwood Capital Group acquired Taittinger Group and today continues to develop Annick Goutal Parfums respecting the criteria of the niche perfumery market.

Annick Goutal is one of my favorite fragrances since I was gifted my first bottle of Vanille Exquise. I think every girl should at least own one bottle.

That is a wonderful gift. I was introduced to this line by a friend of mine who only uses Annick Goutal. She said it was famous in Europe.
