Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Skincare Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser, Firming Eye Treatment and Purely Nourishing Cream Review

Based on an independent consumer study, women said:

80% felt their skin texture to be smoother and more even;
78% felt their pores were less noticeable;
89% felt their skin were gently exfoliated.

These statements were all results from using bareMinerals Skincare! Quite amazing, isn’t it? Let’s take a look at what this line is all about.

Starting off with the Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser (2.5 oz @ $26.00), it’s the winner of Health Magazine’s 2011 Beauty Award for Best Face Exfoliator! This is not your everyday exfoliator because the way it is to be used. There are not beads or crystals to scrub with, it comes rather in a powder form.

I noticed that in this box there was some sort of a personalized thank you note up to a certain degree from the Executive Chairman herself. If you look at the second photo it states, “Luxuriously rich Love, Leslie.” The color scheme is quite unique with the inside hot pink and the outside more or so garden like colors.

The cleanser comes in a fairly lightweight plastic bottle with a push top opener. The design gives the bottle a very soft touch and feel.

It is said that this exfoliator contains 100% pure ActiveSoil Complex which gives skin renewing benefits, faster cell turnover, and antioxidant protection. The result brings a brighter, smoother, younger-looking skin. Fine lines and wrinkles are also reduced and pores are smaller. In other words, you will look younger with the use of this.

Below depicts the picture of how the bottle works. In a closed mode the hole is not see through rather blocked by the brown plastic. However, when you want to use it slide it in the direction of the arrow.

The directions on how to use this is quite simple. First you just need to splash your hands and face with water. Then pour a small amount of the powdery formula on to the wet hands and rub. This is how you activate the exfoliator.

I have taken two snapshots for you to see how the powdery form looks in the first picture and how it looks after being activated in the second. It did take me several tries to find the right amount of powder and water to mix.  So if you are not familiar with it, try using very little water first. When you get the froth consistency like the second photo, you are good to go. The cleanser feels very gentle but leaves skin clean and soft. I can see the pores are tightened as well.

Next, we have the Firming Eye Treatment (0.5 fl oz @ $28.00), it is featured in a squeeze tube design. This eye cream also uses 100% ActiveSoil Complex for all the benefits as the exfoliator above. The only addition is the electrolyte delivery system which optimizes the skin’s ability to absorb and confine moisture. Ultimately, the result is a smoother and healthier skin.

The instructions for use is quite simple. You want to apply 6 dots around your eyes from the brow bone down to under the eye area. It is like a C shape. Then gently pat into the skin for absorption. Use twice daily.

The treatment is a lightweight cream and it absorbs quickly. The formula didn’t have any scent at all which was nice. You don’t need a lot, just a tiny bit goes a long way. Because the cream contains fine shimmers, it makes the fine lines around the eyes less visible. You can also feel the skin being tightened right after using it.

Last but not least is the Purely Nourishing Cream (1.7 fl oz @ $28.00), it is a cream that is targeted towards dry skin. This cream is able to deeply nourish your skin due to its richness for improvements towards firmness, elasticity, radiance, and the texture of the skin. This cream also uses the 100% ActiveSoil Complex for the same benefits as the eye cream above.

When you open the cream, the initial impression is the thickness. This cream is a lot thicker because of its targeting towards dry skin. Upon using it, I felt that the cream was a little to rich during the day for me but it indeed keeps the skin nourished and moisturized. It makes a great night mask though! When I wake up in the morning, my skin is very smooth and plumped.

All 3 skincare products are quite simple to use. Being scentless was one thing that I love. I know sometimes when there are skincare products with scent in them, they feel so icky and not as nice on me. From the exfoliator to the nourishing cream, it felt that the products were well made in the sense that they perform what they specify. Best of all, these aren’t even that expensive!

      They have other ones as well. You just need to check their website to see what you need.

    I didn’t like the exfoliator because it is so wierd compared to the ones I use. I think I get better cleansing with Clarisonic.
