Benefit Sun Beam Golden Bronze Complexion Highlighter Swatch and Review

With a bottle design that is mistaken for a nail polish and the color is a bronzing highlighter, Benefit brings the boring days to an end with Sun Beam, a golden color that gives a radiant touch to the skin.

When Benefit’s Sun Beam first came out, I was like look at the palm trees with the tropical like weather design on the box. If only Winter would zoom by faster, but hey the product is worthy of mention because it’s a great golden color bronze highlighter.

To use this highlighter, dot and blend over makeup on the cheeks or brow bones. You can see the instructions on the photo below.

The packaging design of Sun Beam adopts the look of a nail polish bottle, but it is the brush applicator that makes it truly practical for ease of use. The bristles pick up just enough product that you can apply either on the cheeks for a sunkissed glow or under the brow bones for an instant awakening radiance. The light bronze gold color is so universal, flattering all skintones.

The liquid formula of Sun Beam doesn’t dry immediately on the skin so it gives you some time to actually blend the product where you want. When you blend it out it shows a much radiant look without being excessively heavy. Instead this is lightweight and quite easily controlled. Swatched on the left side is brushed with the applicator and on the right side is the product evenly blended. As you can see, the color is rather subtle so it won’t be overwhelming. But you can definitely give it more drama by layering more. The highlighting effect is also more natural than a shimmery powder which tends to look oily over time. The color really seems to melt into the skin so it looks like you’re glowing from within.

Benefit Sun Beam is the liquid sunshine in a bottle, giving the face a natural highlighting glow even on the gloomiest days. And with a little creativity, you can also try to mix it with your foundation for a dewy luminous finish or even on the body for an overall sunkissed look.

Benefit Sun Beam is available at Benefit Cosmetics and Sephora.

Sun Beam is such a nice color. I personally have this and used it a few times already. But I don’t think my skintone wmatches.
