Bihada Ichizoku Kurobara Sheet Mask Review
Who doesn’t love sheet masks? They’re fast, convenient, highly concentrated… I’m sure every girl and her chihuahua have a box or two lying around, no offense, seriously! But have you seen or used a black sheet mask? This is my first time trying a black sheet mask. It’s the Bihada Ichizoku Kurobara sheet mask. Why is it black? Does it work better than the regular sheet masks?
This manga style artwork is really adorable. I love the little rose decoration on her eye patch and her hair.
On the back of the packaging, you can see the direction for use and full list of ingredients. Click on the photo to zoom in. The mask actual contains 27ml of essence, that was a lot of moist. After taking a look at the ingredients, did you figure out why the mask was black? I’m sure you did. Who else can look black other than charcoal powder! If you’re familiar with Japanese skincare, charcoal is widely used for absorbing dirt and oil. The other main ingredients on the list are artichoke extract, daisy extract and alpha-arbutin. I’m not so sure about artichoke and daisy extracts, but arbutin is a powerful whitening ingredient.
This is what the mask looks like. Note there’re more slits than a lot of masks I tried. But it was super hard to unfold it. I start to miss my MBD masks. Overall fitting is great as the material is very stretchable. And it smells pretty nice too, with a hint of rose. I left the mask on for 15 minutes per instruction and massaged the remaining into my skin. But once I looked at my face in the mirror, I didn’t see much improvements.
I’m a little sad that there wasn’t much whitening and moisturizing effects from this mask. I only used it once so maybe if only I keep using it, the results will show. Oh I forgot to mention the price of this mask is ¥450, so around $5 or $6. I think it’s a bit expensive compared to MBD (My Beauty Diary) and Silk Whitia which work a lot better and much cheaper than this. So no repurchase from me.
I love sheet masks! But yea, haven’t tried a black colored one. 😉
I use mostly My Beauty Diary. And some C&F sheet masks.
My Beauty Diary is the best. It has the most varieties in terms of flavor and such.
Black mask seems interesting, too bad it didn’t work out for ya.
Yea I was all excited when I saw the mask but again I only used once.
I used this mask last year and didn’t see much result either. It smells really good though.
Hehe it does smell nice, doesn’t it.
Oh man that mask is expensive. I will just stick with my MBD.
Yea definitely stick with the MBD. I also want to try the skincare line too. Everything seems really yum.
Thanks for the review. Now I know I’m not getting it, not worth the money.
The mask is really not worth it because the quality is just sub-par.
I saw this mask at Marukai and was going to get it. I’m glad I didn’t.
Good for you for saving the money.
Great review. I think the drawing on the packaging is cute.
Thanks for commenting.
I’ve never tried a black mask. It kinda looks scary.
Hmm, you just gave me an idea! I think it might be great for Halloween especially in all black coat and stuff.
I used another bihada sheet mask before and it works great on me. Maybe not this one.
Which one did you use in the past?
Interesting mask too bad it didn’t work out.
🙁
too bad this mask didn’t show any immediate results…
i’ve only tried one black mask before, the shills one =]
i like it, it’s not the best i’ve tried but pretty good.
Thanks for letting me know. I think black masks are pretty cool since the white ones are more standard…
ohh thanks for the review ^u^
No Problem! Thanks for stopping by.
Looks interesting! I have never tried sheet masks though.
You should try, they are relaxing once you have them on. You can lay there and close your eyes.
