Brand Spotlight Featuring ELLIS FAAS

ELLIS FAAS brand may sound unfamiliar to you, but if I tell you some of her past achievements wouldn’t you be shocked?

Being “one of the most influential make-up artists of her time”, Ellis Faas has led an entire army of makeup artists who are responsible for Karl Lagerfeld shows towards both Fendi and Chanel. She also worked with world’s top designers, photographers, stylist, and more. Her background includes working for Clinique, Lancome, and Mac Cosmetics. L’ Oreal even asked her to create makeup for Biotherm which is traditionally a skincare line ……

It was then in 2007 that she started her brand, “ELLIS FAAS.”

Ellis Faas is a company that prides themselves with high quality products. But that’s not all, they also pride themselves of giving the very best customer service. If you were to order from them at, you would find that each order is individually shrink wrapped and put in a sturdy box for shipping. Why shrink wrap? That is because the product would not be easily squished or damaged. So you could ensure a faultless product upon arrival.

In my shipment also came a postcard and a booklet introducing the brand. As you can see the mysterious yet highly skilled design work is seen here on the front of the postcard and the booklet.

“Human Colours” is the concept Ellis Faas based upon. What is it? She believes no matter what skin tone a person has, the colors that exist naturally in our bodies are universal and by using those “Human Colours,” we will sure look our best. What a great palette of colors?! As you might note in the descriptions below, she incorporates colors ranging from tawny peach of a freckle to the vivid red that pulses through our veins. I would say she’s pretty artistic.

Take a look at this video called “A Family Affair” on the website. On a side note, the model in the video is Ellis’ brother and the background music is by her daughter.

So the company has interesting concept, high quality products and awesome customer service. So you might say, “So?” Well, the company also has ingenuity and creativity. They even created something called the Ellis Holder which changes the way we see makeup and store them.

Doesn’t Ellis look timeless and trendy at the same time? Through her makeup, it is made possible for every woman to be the expert.

Finally, let’s take a sneak peak of her line of “Human Colours.”

Are you excited and impressed as I am? Stay tuned for full blasts of each product …

Ellis Faas is Dutch, and her products are sold at Liberty London. Now, I just need to get over to Liberty to check them out in person!

I got everything today – Ellis Faas looks so…amazing! Btw how you got all types of products? I just found lipsticks/lip gloss, mascara and eyeshadows on Sephora site. But I believe there should be also blushes, foundation etc.

          • admin September 30, 2011 at 3:01 PM

Their website has everything lol. They even wraps the products better than Sephora!

          • time4beauty September 30, 2011 at 11:08 PM

I could purchase only from on store. I needed a lot more than Ellis, so I went for Sephora))

I went to the website and saw some how to videos. I am amazed by how sleek the products look. The holder also looks really nice.

    • admin September 28, 2011 at 2:59 PM

The holder does look amazing, doesn’t it? You can just toss it in the purse and go. It’s got everything you need in it.

  5. Allisa September 28, 2011 at 9:17 AM

The video is quite interesting. The designer even got her brother to do the modeling and her daughter to play the piano. That was indeed a family affair. Anyways I’m looking forward to see the reviews.

    • admin September 28, 2011 at 3:01 PM

The whole family is really talented. I’d love my brother if he let me do makeup on him. Sadly I don’t even have a brother.

I think my mom was talking about this before but we never got the chance to try it out. I wonder if they can ship to Korea.

    • admin September 28, 2011 at 3:31 PM

Yes they ship worldwide though I’m not sure how soon you will get the order. You can always email them and ask.

  7. Xiao Ning September 28, 2011 at 11:19 AM

I saw Kevin using this on the Taiwanese Queen show before but I didn’t know the brand. It’s a good thing that you feature this brand. I’m all interested again.

    • admin September 28, 2011 at 3:35 PM

Queen show is really great. I always try to watch it as much as I can. I also buy the magazines that come out 4 times a year.

  8. Tina Lawrance September 28, 2011 at 12:05 PM

My husband got me some creamy eyes from London for me last year but I didn’t know they have Ellis Faas in the states. I need to check it out.

    • admin September 28, 2011 at 3:37 PM

Aww how sweet of your husband. But yea ELLIS FAAS have a warehouse in NJ so they ship really fast in the US.

  9. Vonvon September 28, 2011 at 1:37 PM

Jamilla, me too! I s want to go down to London, but I can’t get a babysitter for my daughter!:(

FruityLashes, there’s a lot of products you have there! Waiting patiently or rather impatiently for the swatches, reviews, etc etc! 🙂

    • admin September 28, 2011 at 3:40 PM

Vonvon and J, me 3 want to go to London but maybe not next year because of the Olympics but I will go after that. As for the products, I will do swatches and reviews soon ^^

  10. Brit September 28, 2011 at 2:34 PM

  11. nicolle September 28, 2011 at 5:53 PM

can’t wait! I am really interested in the foundation. Sephora now carries this line – not in stores yet but online. About time! 🙂

    • admin September 28, 2011 at 8:31 PM

You could always get the products from directly.

  12. Jessie September 28, 2011 at 9:12 PM

I just checked their website and found out they have a lot more selection than Sephora. I really want the holder and a foundation pen so I guess I’m going to order directly from the website.

    • admin September 30, 2011 at 2:02 PM

They do have a wider selection on the website. I would order from their site because they shrink wrap everything which is really nice.

  13. Jen Balz September 29, 2011 at 12:42 AM

Everything seems so interesting. It’s a shame I’ve never heard of Ellis Faas and her brand. I love her bullet shaped pen and the holder. Looking forward to your swatches.
