Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick No. 08 Tea Rose

Sadly, this will be my last post about my Burberry collection thus far. Oh the tears!! Ack hmmm… I am sure I will be posting about Burberry products in the distant future. As far as the packaging goes it is identical to every other products in their cosmetic line. Particularly, I thought they could add an “instruct-able” on how their magnetic mechanism worked since it was pretty neat (more about it in a bit).

As noticeable as it can get Burberry as with everyone of its products whether big or small shows a very noticeable check design. With a very smooth plastic feel, the lipstick fits perfectly in the hand.

With 20 shades available on the market, I decided to snag No. 08 Tea Rose since it was the only thing that stuck out to me. I was thinking of “English Tea & Rose” so the words, “Tea Rose,” was what caught my eye.

As promised, the mechanism that Burberry had on its lipstick was an embedded magnetic strip that would secure the cap to the lipstick. The tricky part is that the sides have to match and there is a combination of 4 choices to choose from each time you put the cap back on.

Like a lot of the other Burberry products, the lip stick also has that faint rose scent. You can smell it each time you pop open the lipstick. Burberry really went into the details on this one and sketched its check logo all around the lipstick. So even if your cap isn’t showing anyone who sees you putting on lipstick would know that its a Burberry because of its distinctness. I guess that’s just marketing for ya.

The distinctiveness of the color pigments does give an even coloring of the lips and the more that is applied on the more intense the color appeal gets. Also, the lipstick once put on feels very moisturizing to the lips which is very nice so that the lips don’t look like wrinkly red lips.

My final thoughts is that just like all Burberry Beauty products it was both made with details to attract marketing and I would say they did a pretty good job at making them look luxurious. I would like to add that even though the packaging of the product is magnificent, “Pay attention to the little details that are important too!” The lipstick cannot fully twist back in the casing thus leaves the tip out for smudging against the cap. It’s as if the pigs tail is sticking out ready to be pulled. Another detail that could use some improvement on is the cap unlike some other lipsticks (hint hint *Guerlain*) could use a makeover in having the cap go back in one specific direction so that the magnets can stick together as oppose to multiples ways. Bye bye for now Burberry….

It’s so true about the lipstick getting hit by the cap. I hit mine! You can’t see it anymore because it was very light, but it annoyed me that you can’t twist it all the way down. Also I was not a fan of the scent which translate to taste on my lips. I will probably be returning mine. I love the color but I can’t justify the purchase. 🙁
