Chanel Fall 2011 Nail Polish 525 Quartz Swatch and Review

It’s almost time to get off the summer train and jump on the fall one. All the bright colors like yellow, red, and orange are all going away. Summer’s over in another 2 months or so! The leaves will be withering by then and falling off trees.

Starting off with the first fall product this year is 525 Quartz nail polish from Chanel. The color is a very unique one of a kind in its league.

Here is an up close photo of the nail polish with its protective outer shell.

Standing up right the words 525 Quartz just pops right out at you. The color as you can see has different swirls inside due to its uniqueness.

I find Quartz really interesting because the first coat goes on really sheer. But once you put on the second coat, it becomes perfectly opaque. It went from semi-translucent pearl taupe to brownish taupe. It also shows silver shimmer depending on the lighting and angel. The color itself is perfect for transitioning into autumn. Especially seeing the leaves on trees turning brown and eventually preparing to fall before winter. The finish is in between pearl and metallic though the brush marks are more visible and noticeable in reading distance than previous Chanel releases. The application is smooth and easy.

One of the secrets to this seasons formula for Quartz is it’s fluorescent sparkles that can be seen only under the sun.

Here are multiple angles and shots for the nail polish in different settings and lighting to give different views. Notice the different colors that is seen in different light settings.

This nail polish is a very subtle and easy to wear color. It doesn’t give the extreme flashy look like it’s previous season. The polish also has its different lighting looks which is perfect because it suits the fall look with a much more darker color. A more adventurous approach can be the opposite, meaning the color itself can be seen like a cutie going for a tan on the beach and her skin turns into a darker one but because of her healthy skin she looks smooth. Add on some lotion with sparkles, what you see is a perfect tanned body sparkling in the sun. The color I think can be interpreted in many ways… What do you suggest?

YAY QUARTZ! I’m liking this color a lot. It can looks gold, as well as a pretty taupe. I thin it’s a great sophisticated, but fun color for both the summer and the upcoming fall. ^^

Anyone seen a good and less pricy alterntive to Quartz?

Jane, I would assume OPI might have some because they have a larger collection of polish without the higher cost. I can tell you though Quartz to me is one of a kind from Chanel. I think it’s worth the cost.

Thanks very much admin! but I also think that the Chanel quality is dropping, OPI and Sally Hansen is much better
