Chanel Holiday 2011 Collection Les Scintillances de Chanel Lumiere Sculptee Highlighting Powder, Rouge Allure Extrait Gloss Triomphal and Nail Polish Rouge Carat Quick Swatch
When I confirmed that my local Chanel counter finally got the holiday 2011 collection in stock, I had to run to the store to get them. Furthermore, I had to dash through the 5 o’clock traffic. But that didn’t stop me from getting what was waiting for me. Getting out of the car, I could see the Chanel words glowing from inside the store. I couldn’t help but zoom inside at lightening speeds. I did scare a few SA’s while I was at it. I felt like a little kid all over again seeing candy at the candy shop and drooling as I look even more.
I couldn’t resist so Chanel came home with me.
The first item I want to show you is Chanel Holiday 2011 Collection’s star item, Les Scintillances de Chanel Lumiere Sculptee de Chanel Highlighting Powder.
The details almost look like pure Mayan artwork or better yet almost like back in the era of Hammurabi’s existence. The art is exquisite. The palette is also really well made.
There is a silvery overspray on the palette which wears off once you start using it, but the patten should last for a short period of time. The photo here is taken with flash. The shimmers look as if I am reliving the architect from back in time, it really shines.
So the powder adds a pearlish glow to the skin with super fine luster shimmering under the sun. As you can notice this highlighting powder is perfect for a White Christmas.
The next item is the Chanel Holiday 2011 Collection 587 Rouge Carat. The Red is just perfect for the holiday!
The shimmers in the bottle makes it look almost like an ornament on a Christmas tree. Except this bottle doesn’t have any strings to tie it on the tree.
The color and the formula are both beyond fabulous. The red polish is filled with tiny ruby powders, it shines like a diamond but in color red. It fits the name “Rouge Carat” perfectly. The color is so pigmented that one coat is sufficient and the result is flawless.
Our final item in the collection is Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss 517 Triomphal.
The shimmering red gloss seems like a precious gem. If you look at it closely you can see there are pink and red shimmers. The gloss has a gel like consistency and it is really pigmented.
Finally, take a look at the whole collection campaign images and product lineup at Makeup4All, and Best Things in Beauty has them swatched here and here.
Chanel’s Holiday 2011 has got my attention. The color pigmentation and the interpretation of the red is so fancy that the whole collection is a must! Each red color I come across either seems like it’s made of a red colored gem stone or simply put, a ruby. The formula on the nail polish has almost improved that it is well worth getting.
That highlighting powder is so pretty!
Kat that powder is like an artwork from Leonardo Da Vinci or something.
Oh, This highlighter is gorgeous! Can’t wait until we get this collection… but I think we’ll need to wait till December(((( Seasonal collection always come late to us.
Hey you will put up your review about this right? I can’t wait to see your post about it as well!
Not sure yet. I’m considering buing nail polish and may be lipgloss.
The nail polish is extremely good and the lipgloss will make your lips shiny!
thanks so much! I have been wanting to see swatches of Rouge Carat. I am definitely picking that up. The highlighter looks beautiful too. I want to grab some of the lip products too but I keep telling myself I already have enough! But it is so hard to say no to Chanel 🙂
Chanel is really great! You can’t go wrong with the brand.
I am fainting from the gorgeousness, lucky girl!
Jamilla, you need to get some Chanel and show us your FOTDs.
I cannot resist the temptation, I must get the nail polish and the gloss…
The nail polish is a must!
Do you think the sculptee powder is worth the price?
I think for Chanel the price isn’t that bad. If you look closely the artwork is intricate and it does it’s job really well.
You know, Chanel is the most classiest red i’ve ever seen. But I really like the Triomphal. It has great coverage.
Someone once told me that you could not live without a red lipstick from Chanel. A lot of people I know really love the red colored lipsticks from the brand.
Will the highlighter work on darker skin tones tan or olive? How did the single eyeshadows look in person?
We will have the single eyeshadows up soon. As for the highlighter, it pretty much works on any skin tone after seeing a few people swatching them in the store. I really think you should go to the store to swatch it and see how it looks on you. That would give you the most accurate picture.
The artwork is just like what you said. It looks like Mayan.
I am really impressed with the red that Chanel made for this season.
The red is really festive and great for the season. It brings a lot of warmth.
Where did you get this set? I checked Saks and they told me they weren’t going to get it until the end of the month. I am dying to have some of these.
Nordstroms and Neimans both have them.
I love your website. I found your website from Google and it seems like a high quality site with a lot of stuff I like. Hopefully I can see more Chanel!
There will be more Chanel coming in soon. Stay Tuned. Thanks for stopping in!
I am going to faint! This collection is so romantic for the season.
All the red and some pink too! You gotta love Chanel for making the season bright and bubbly romantic.
That red nail polish seems to be very deep and sparkly especially looking at how shiny it is.
Rouge Carat is a really favorite nail polish of mine. I found love for it almost instantaneous.
OMG! Are you going to do the whole collection? I was shocked when I saw this.
We might possibly do the entire collection. There are just a few more products I haven’t reviewed.
