Chanel Le Vernis 511 Pearl Drop, 513 Black Pearl and 515 Peche Nacree

How can I ever get enough Chanel’s nail polishes? This season Chanel releases 3 unique shades with inspiration drawn from pearls! 2 of them, Pearl Drop and Black Pearl were also spotted at Chanel’s Spring Fashion Show. Chanel suggests Black Pearl on nails and Pearl Drop on toes. What a combination! Though Pêche Nacrée didn’t make the run way, its subtle and feminine still stands out as it’s absolutely gorgeous.

Now let’s take a look!

Light – 511 Pearl Drop, Dark – 513 Black Pearl and Sweet – 515 Pêche Nacrée

511 Pearl Drop is a frosted off white with subtle gold sheen. 513 Black Pearl is a deep gunmetal with grey-ish green undertone. 515 Pêche Nacrée is a peachy pink with pale white micro shimmers.

Now let me show you the swatches. All pictures were taken with 2 coats of polish.

Pearl Drop in natural lighting. I wasn’t so sure about white polishes because they’re usually hard to apply. Some show too much brush mark and some are too sheer. Not this one! After I swatched at the counter, I was immediately drawn by the creamy texture and smooth finish. Though being a pearl metallic polish, you can still see brush lines. It doesn’t look visible or bad at all. Personally I think it only adds a unique feel to it.

Black Pearl in natural lighting. This one is probably the main star of the collection. I know a lot of girls love edgy dark nail polishes. And Black Pearl is for you. It has the right amount of grey, green, black and teal to make you become the center of attention. Brush lines? Yes absolutely you can see the brush lines on these photos. Does it bother me? Not at all. In real life, the brush lines are really not that visible. No one is going to get that close to see if your polish has brush lines.

Pêche Nacrée in natural lighting. As you already guessed, Pêche Nacrée means Peach Pearl in French. It’s the most feminine shade in the collection. The soft peachy pink is very sophisticated and will look great on all skin tones.

I really can’t decide which one is my favorite so I just had to get all 3 of them. With Chanel’s expression of light, dark and sweet, this Spring won’t be bored.

p.s. Chanel has increased its nail polish price to $25 per bottle after the new year. Apparently nail polish has become a big market for cosmetic companies. I remember when I first started collecting Chanel nail polish, it was only $19. So for each $100, you get one bottle less than before. Fashion doesn’t come cheap.

Oh my, Pearl Drop is definitely my favourite. I’m not too fond of darker shades, but the pink and the white are so lovely! Wouldn’t get a Chanel polish, though :p They’re always sold out!

Black pearl is gorgeous! I was thinking of getting Dior’s Gris Montaigne, now I’m loving this shade…I’ve never tried Dior or Chanel Polishes, what to do?? xD but i don’t think we have this collection here in the UK yet, and it’s a little cheaper in the US too 😀

The white pearl really appeals to me since it looks so elegant but it seems so sheer…I feel like I’d have to use so many coats ><
