ck one introduces diverse group of artistic insiders & make-up artists for launch of the new ck one color cosmetics Line

ck one color cosmetics introduces a diverse group of influential personalities and artists who will initiate global consumer engagement for the new ck one color cosmetics line and mobilize the consumer voice of the brand.

The “ck one insiders” include American musician Dev; British style blogger, DJ and model, Bip Ling; and American graffiti artist, Miss 163, who will serve as the brand’s consumer-driven voice.  Jodie Boland, Kristi Matamoros and Hung Vanngo have also signed on as the cosmetics brand’s official make-up artists.

Each ck one insider was selected for their authentic individuality, which is an inherent part of the iconic ck one brand. They will participate in the brand’s social media initiatives, relating to the brand and translating color through their own genres – music, art, beauty, and fashion – to share and engage with their social media fan bases in innovative ways. Each of them will also contribute to new product innovations for future launches and brand extensions.

The global launch of ck one color cosmetics introduces a full line-up of over 130 products that all capture the core ck one brand DNA – authentic, confident, and cool. In the US, ck one color cosmetics will be sold exclusively at select Ulta stores and beginning in April 2012. Worldwide, ck one color cosmetics are currently available at El Corte Inglés in Spain and Myer department stores in Australia, expanding in April 2012 to Marionnaud in France and El Corte Inglés in Portugal, and select retailers in UK, Germany, Latin America and Travel Retail by the end of the year. Further global expansion will continue beginning spring 2013.



About the ck one insiders:

Dev was discovered online, by the record label Indie-Pop, and her song “Booty Bounce” was sampled in Far East Movement‘s hit single “Like a G6,” which reached number #1 in the U.S. and sold over five million downloads in the country. Dev was signed to Universal Republic in October 2010 and released her debut single “Bass Down Low” in November 2010. Her second single “In the Dark” peaked at number #11 in the U.S., making it her most successful solo single to date. Her highly anticipated debut album is scheduled to release on March 27, 2012.

Bip Ling grew up in London and studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design. Bip has been photographed for Vogue, Elle, Love, and The Sunday Times Style Magazine, and is also an in-demand DJ. Her popular fashion, music, and art blog – – reflects her enthusiasms and serves as a touchstone for her ever-growing army of admirers and fans.

Miss 163 was raised in the South Bronx and moved to Florida when she turned 15, where she realized the importance of graffiti. She returned to New York City to study Fine Arts at The Cooper Union where she received her BFA and was awarded a Fulbright grant to study experimental filmmaking and mural making in Lima, Peru. In Peru she was able to sharpen her mural-making skills and formed a womanist graffiti collective called Maripussy Crew. After a year of living in Peru she returned to the South Bronx where she is currently working as a Program Director at The Point CDC. She continues to make public art and uses it as a medium to talk about empowerment and social justice.


About the Make-up Artists:

Jodie Boland, a frequent collaborator with such photographers as Ben Watts and Terry Richardson, works regularly on Calvin Klein projects. Jodie focuses on accentuating each person’s individual features, which allows her subject’s own youth and freshness to shine in their own special way.

Kristi Matamoros launched her career working in commercials and music videos accumulating an impressive artist resume that includes Beck, Green Day, and Foo Fighters. In 2003, Kristi relocated to New York City to focus on fashion and beauty and has worked extensively with the Calvin Klein brands.

Hung Vanngo is known for creating beautiful skin and for his use of color. His talent for creating faces that unite pure beauty with an avant garde aesthetic has made him a go-to source for some of the industry’s leading photographers and magazines.


In support of the brand’s launch, the ck one color cosmetics line’s inaugural advertising campaign debuted in March 2012 with a distinctive cast that exemplifies the message of real beauty in classic ck one style. Most of the talent were also featured in the Spring 2011 ck one lifestyle and Fall 2011 ck one shock fragrance campaigns, including: Dutch supermodel Lara Stone – who is also featured in the Spring 2012 advertising campaigns for Calvin Klein Collection, ck Calvin Klein, and Calvin Klein Jeans; British model/songwriter Ruby Aldridge; Tanzanian model Herieth Paul; Australian model Abbey Lee Kershaw; British model Eliza Cummings; Chinese model Fei Fei Sun; and American model Ehren Dorsey; as well as male models, Swedish artist Viggo Janason and Russian model/rapper Yuri Pleskun.
