Clarins Ombre Minérale Fall 2012 Colour Collection Colour Accents Powder and Blush, Rouge Prodige True Colour & Shine Orchid Pink and 3-Dot Liner
The fall season is all about having that porcelain-clarity flawless complexion and intensely enhanced feminine eyes. It sounds pretty easy? Well it’s even easier to achieve the look if you have the right makeup items. Today we’ll show you 3 makeup products from Clarins that would make all your fall glam dream come true.
We will be starting with the limited edition Color Accents Face & Blush Powder. The powder comes in a light weight shiny gold rectangle compact with the brand’s signature logo on top. Within the compact, the powder itself is packed at a generous amount of 10g.
Not only the compact case is decorated with Clarin’s signature colors of gold and red. The protective velvet pouch is also in the color red. The color combination is very eye catching and gives the palette a a red carpet feel.
Upon opening the case, we are greeted by the full sized mirror on top and 3 coordinating face colors and 1 blush color. The 4 shades can be mixed and matched depending on personal preference and skin tone for an illuminating effect. The powder is also lightly scented, pleasant to the point quite addicting. I’ve never had the urge to smell a face powder like this before, but I kind of enjoy it.
Next is the Rouge Prodige in 134 Orchid Pink. The very first thing I noticed was the sweet berry scent. I was immediately fallen for it. After all, I do love fruits a lot. Besides the wonderful scent (I can’t get it out of my mind), the packaging is a smooth and shiny gold design with Clarins red accent on the bottom as well as inside the cap. Orchid Pink is a plum pink with subtle cool toned shimmer.
Perhaps a uniquely designed liner gets the job done much easier and faster, instead of one tip, but 3 tips in a row. Clarins 3-Dot Liner is something never seen before and provides a brand new experience at drawing lines. If you really think about it, it’s much easier to control the line when you draw smaller portions. Clarins adapts the idea brilliantly and its 3-dot liner is able to accentuate the eyes and add volume to the lashes. Inside the box is also an instructions manual that gives you all the tips and tricks for the perfectly lined eyes.
Here is a close up look at the liner and its 3-dots.
When you look at the swatches for all 3 products, you will notice a variety of things.
Starting off with the face & blush powder, all the shades are ultra fine and smooth that upon touching the face they instantly melt into the skin. The 3 gradational bronzing powder will literally suit every skin tone without looking orang-y, and the pink blush is perfect for adding a healthy color on the cheeks. They can be blended all together as swatched for a translucent flawless complexion. Since the powders are super fine, it covers pores and small imperfections really well giving the face a soft focus effect. There are no visible shimmer contained in the palette, so for the ones that prefer matte finish, this palette is for you.
I always feared of putting on berry/plum colored lipsticks before, it’s just a color that normally doesn’t wear right for me. But after swatching it first on my arms, I felt that the formula is extremely smooth and the pigmentation is phenomenal. I just had to try it on the lips and I ended up loving it a lot. The color is quite natural looking and flattering on the lips. The formula indeed is nourishing yet light weight with no sticky feel. The multi-colored shimmers are dazzlingly pretty in the sun. Not even that, it’s quite long lasting as well. It easily survived my afternoon snack of a piece of bagel with peanut butter. I couldn’t tell the different before and after eating. The most amazing part about this lipstick is that by the end of the day after I removed my makeup, my lips felt super smooth and plumped, no signs of peeling and dry lips. Clarins really hits it home with rich and creaminess, it felt like I was wearing a lip balm instead of a lipstick.
Lastly, the 3-Dot liner is by far a new thing to me. I feel that each time I use it, it reinforces the line drawing. The color Black (Nior) is so intense that the dots instantly define the eyes with precision, and without the needs of going over and over. The glossy finish also helps dimensionalize the already rich pigments. I think the liner is a great success and more shades in the future would even make me happier.
In this direct detailed shot of the lipstick, you would notice the texture the lipstick brings as well as how well it reacts to sunlight.
For the blended look on the face & blush powder, you can see it finely milled bringing radiance to the area. The skin also looks even and smooth.
Last but not least, here is a swatch of each of the colors from the palette swatched separately. You would notice that each color is a lot more natural and pretty well aligned with skin color. Note the shades are heavily swatched to show colors. When applying using a face brush, it should look much more natural like the previous photo shown.
All 3 products from Clarins really amazed me. The color selection is very appropriate for the fall season with flawless complexion, vibrant lips and beautifully defined eyes. The quality is at top notch with fantastic formula and long lasting power. The packaging is nothing but simple, elegant and Parisian chic. Having these pieces in hand will make one feel extra special. Overall this is one collection you don’t want to miss out for fall.
