Color of the Week – Chanel Nouvelle Vague

Am I a little late doing this shade? Chanel Nouvelle Vague actually came out as one of the two Summer colors several months ago. I was stupid for not getting it right away thinking it will be always at the counter when I pick it up. In fact it did fly off the shelf like In & Out burgers even before I noticed. For those of you who’s not familiar with In & Out, it’s a popular burger chain started in Southern California. Until now only California, Nevada and Arizona has it. So if ever get a chance to come to these states, you must give it a try.

Anyways let’s get back to Chanel. Nouvelle Vague is a beautiful turquoise shade with subtle shimmer. Under different lightings it shows either green or blue, very interesting. I doubt there will be a close dupe to this shade. My husband found out a weird way of displaying the bottle. Look at the picture below.

It works like this. The bottom of the bottle sits snuggles inside the cap. It almost fits perfectly. I really have no idea how he came up with this idea but since he kept saying “it must be designed this way”. I start to believe him. I guess guys do think differently than us and once in a while they’re pretty creative ^^ JK.

Chanel must’ve done some major improvements for this polish. The application is incredibly smooth and the pigmentation is absolutely wonderful. With one coat it gets completely opaque and there’s barely any brush marks. The finish is glossy even without a top coat.

The color is pretty much the same as it shows up on the nail.

Another picture taken with flash on.

I bought new nail toys yesterday so just testing out some stones here. Hopefully next week I’ll show you guys what I got.

Alright I’m very excited since this color is ย very unique. Being able to grab it off the shelf again makes me feel ecstatic. With the smooth texture the product is tremendously improved since there is no need for a top coat. Even with the stones on the nail, the color stands out. Doesn’t the color remind you of Tiffany & Co?

I thought this color was sooo cute. It does remind me of Tiffany’s! Sadly, I missed out on it.. This one and Riviera. Sigh~

Mmm In’n’Out.. I live in SoCal, and I haven’t had that in a year. Animal-style hamburger+fries no cheese. ;-; nom.
