Color of the Week – To the Beach

Beach Nail

I don’t know about you guys but we had the worst summer ever here in California. What I mean by “worst” is that the weather was not even hot. Most of the times it was around 70s. Maybe for some people it’s a comfortable summer but for me I rather it gets a little hotter. So maybe God hears my complaints, this past weekend the temperature starts picking up. Great! I’ll do a beach look nail today just in case I get the chance to go to the beach later on.

What I use for nail polishes are pa A20 and Sally Hansen Naturel White. Basically you can use any type of blue and white, no need for expensive stuff.

First paint the white polish all over the nail, do 2 to 3 coats. Then draw several blue stripes on top. Try to do it as even as possible. I normally buy the pa glitter nail polishes and I didn’t realize this brand really makes great non-glitter polishes for nail art. The consistency is a little thinner than my regular polish but the pigmentation is unbeatable. The brush was even the right size for drawing these stripes.

Now moving on to the next step. I need some white acrylic paint and a palette to hold my paint.

Draw an anchor shape. No need to be perfect, we’ll cover it up later on. I’m not good at drawing anyways.

A cheap clear nail polish and micro-beads. I’m using Sally Hansen No Chip Top Coat as my glue.

Here I use some gold micro-beads. I think silver will do fine as well. Press these on using a tooth pick. You really don’t need a dotting tool even though it’s nice to have.

To finish it up get some nail stickers out.

These dots represents water bubbles. And that’s it!

If you don’t like the white paint underneath, you can fix it up or you can leave it. It’s not going to be noticeable.

Alright! Hope you like today’s beach inspired nail look. See you next time.
