Dior Addict Crystal Gloss 037 Luminescent Peach, 047 Sweet Peach, 077 Luminescent Rose, 087 Sweet Rose Swatch and Review

Peach and passion fruit icy with tapioca are my favorite summer drinks. I wish they could be packaged in the tubes like Dior Addict Crystal Glosses. I’d take these beauty potions anywhere I go. Though I heard too much tapioca make you fat… Truth or myth? Anyone want to take a stab at answering the question?

Today I’m going to talk about Summer 2011 Electric Tropics Collection. There are four shades in total, two translucent: 047 Sweet Peach and 087 Sweet Rose and two sparkling: 037 Luminescent Peach and 077 Luminescent Rose.

All four shades hold a very “jelly” look that is lightly tinted and perfect for the hot summer season. On photo below from top to bottom I have Luminescent Peach (shimmery peach), Sweet Peach (orange), Luminescent Rose (shimmery pink), and Sweet Rose (hot pink). The colors would bring an instant boost to a set of lips transforming it to plumped and flawless.

The outside box is similar to the new Dior Addict lipsticks, shiny silver with red “Dior Addict” written on the side.

On the top of the box it shows the color number and name of it.

According to Dior’s website, these Crystal Glosses are “Enriched with a polymer gel, the vinyl texture immediately delivers volume to the lips, providing long-lasting comfort and optimal hydration.” As depicted here in this picture, the gloss is very rich and shiny. It seems like a very hydrating formula while enhancing the lips.

Here is a swatch of the four in natural indoor lighting. From left to right: Luminescent Peach, Sweet Peach, Luminescent Rose, and Sweet Rose. As the naked eye can see, Luminescent Peach has gold and pink multi shimmers and Luminescent Rose has silver shimmers. The other 2 don’t have any shimmers in it. All four shades might seem pigmented in the tube though they do swatch very subtle.

Again here is the same swatch but under sunlight. The difference isn’t that big but you can probably tell the second and the fourth just have the slightest pink tone than the other two.

Here is Luminescent Peach applied over Dior Addict Fire lipstick. It is much more apparent now that the lips look out of this world especially the juicy yet glossy looking appeal. It even looks shiny! But best of all it is looks very nourished and hydrated.

– The packaging and the vivid summer colors are super adorable, just what I expected from Dior.
– I really appreciate the scent free formula for these lip glosses.
– Though the glosses are slightly tinted in the tube, when applied they don’t add or change the original color underneath, but rather adding a layer of luminosity and radiance.
– The texture is like gel and they glide on effortless by keeping the lips moisturized all day long. Lip lines are filled and lips are plumped.

– All four shades look quite similar despite two of them are transparent and two of them are sparkling. They share the same characteristic of subtleness.
– The consistency is a bit on the sticky side. They feel somewhat tacky.

For lip gloss lovers, these crystal glosses are nice to have and they’re truly cute, whether in the tube or on the lips. But if you already own several Dior glosses, I’d suggest you grab the other items in the collection, for example Fire lipstick and nail polish duos. The glosses are not as unique and must-have as those. Also since the texture is really rich, you only want to apply a small amount in the center of the lips or else it’ll feel tacky on you. After all they’re great glosses.

The tubes look so juicy and cute indeed, but since I’m more into lipsticks these days, it was not that hard to resist! 🙂

Tapioca is full of carbohydrates and high in calories… so I guess the answer is yes, it would make you fat! 😛

LOL. That’s right Tapioca is fattening! The glosses really rock especially the hydration and such. It is also look enhancing.
