Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Collagen Active Lipgloss

The word “Collagen” really does wonder to me, from a can of collagen drink, to a piece of collagen candy. I try to get as much collagen as I can. Since we all know, collagen and elastin fibers are responsible for the strength and elasticity of our skin. It’s only natural that I got to have the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer COLLAGEN Active Lipgloss.

Dior presents a revolutionary lip care system that boosts volume instantly and restructures in the long term, thanks to a unique blend of hyaluronic and marine-based fillers that smooth, moisturize and leave lips irresistibly plump. Apply under regular lipstick or gloss for volume and shine, or morning and night as a 15-day intensive cure. Its fresh mint-vanilla scent makes it even more addictive. (Dior.com)

There are 2 color variations available, 001 Lip Maximizer (top) and 002 Apricot (bottom). You can get 001 Lip Maximizer at any Dior counter, but 002 Apricot is only available at Dior.com

The gloss comes in a doe foot applicator. It doesn’t pick up a lot of product, probably barely enough to cover your lips if you use it as a base under your lipstick or gloss. You’ll definitely need more if you want to use it alone as a lip gloss.

The price is $30 plus tax, a little expensive.

This is what they’ll look like on your lips, clear but glossy. On the left we have 001 Lip Maximizer which has subtle pink micro shimmers. And on the right is 002 Apricot which doesn’t contain any shimmer but rather gives you a tint of peachy color.

Another swatch photo taken in direct sunlight. Both glosses look even glossier and shinier. The tiny pink shimmers in 001 become more visible so that gives your lips a veil of pink. Even though Apricot looks peachy in the tube, it doesn’t seem to add too much color to the lips.

Upon opening the tube, I can smell the vanilla but not really minty. Though I do feel the cooling sensation kick in after I put it on. It’s nothing horrible but it takes a while to get used to, then it becomes addicting and quite refreshing. According to Dior, you can wear this for 15 days as an intense lip treatment. That’s exactly what I did. I tested it out morning and night for a full 2 weeks. I’m happy to say that it does make my lips soft and plump in the end. The hydrating and volumizing formula leaves the lips a veil of shine that’s natural but not too crazy. It is light weight and doesn’t feel sticky at all, more like a lip balm with a gloss finish. It also does a great job in filling in lip lines that a lot of lip glosses fail to deliver. I only wish the price was cheaper. But if you want something that makes you feel good and look good, Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Collagen Active Lipgloss is a splurge.

Lol not like THAT plumpy but enough plumpness that I don’t feel like the need for going crazy over a “plumper” lip product. And Dior is something which I can’t afford lol.

Oh i’m so torn! On the one hand…line filling collagen. On the other hand…$30 plus tax. And I have an irk with glosses that promise color in the packaging but don’t deliver on the lips. ; w ; Why do they do that?
