Dior designs 3 iconic styles for women who like to reinvent themselves each day with stunning results.

Rock Icon Style of dizzyingly high heels, sexy jewelry; Doll Icon Style of light pink Lady Dior bag and pearls; Glam Icon Style of bold leather, lace and deep rich colors.

Red Carpet is the absolute Glam Icon shade.

Dior.com defines the shade as “The dizzying red of a rising star; the taste of joy, for an ultra-sexy pout.” It couldn’t be described better than this.

Compared to the previous Dior Addict Lipcolor, the packaging has changed to a little, taller and more sleek looking with a silver square rim near the top.

The inside tube is also a bit taller and slender. It remains the same weight as 3.5g.

A sticker with color name and number is on the bottom of the cap for easy identification.

As name suggests, Red Carpet is a rich deep red.

Given the high pigmentation of this particular shade and the shape of the lipstick tip, I find it a bit hard to apply perfectly without a lip brush. Though with other shades I tried, it’s possible to apply without the lip brush.

Let me show you the swatch on a piece of tissue paper first. It looks exactly the same as it looks in the tube, rich and deep, though a bit dull.

But how interesting is when I swatch it on the back of my hand, the color turns much more vivid and brighter than it looks by itself. The color is actually really flattering. I assume it’s something to do with my body heat. Whether or not, I really like the color.

Same with how it looks on real lips. It’s exactly that “Red Carpet” kind of red, creamy and matte with no shimmer, only a dewy sheen. As you can see, the color is well saturated and the coverage is fantastic. It doesn’t sink into the lip lines or exaggerate the lines either.

- The packaging is cute as ever but more sleek. It doesn’t get finger prints easily.
- Unlike some lipsticks scented either vanilla or rose, Dior Addict Lipstick is almost, if not scent free. This is a big bonus for cosmetic that goes on so closely to the nose. I’m not saying I don’t like scented products but it could be irritating to some people. So scent free is a safer choice.
- The newly designed formula contains 25% less wax which makes Dior Addict less sticky and it feels incredibly soft and smooth thanks to the extraordinary gel technology.
- The coverage of Red Carpet is awesome. It’s super pigmented. Even darker skin toned lips will get the true rich shade without a problem.
- The texture is very soft and creamy; it feels like a lip balm. It’s also moisturizing like a lip balm.
- The lasting power is phenomenal. I had it on for over 5 hours with drinking and eating dinner. Only the corners smudged a bit and center faded slightly which is very acceptable. There wasn’t a need for reapplying.
- $28 price tag is pretty reasonable for a nicely revamped Dior lipstick.

- I wish there was a sticker on the lipstick tube itself rather than on the cap. If you got several pops opened at the same time, they could get mixed up.
- The end of the lipstick is inside the package so when you get close to bottom, you will need a lip brush to get the product out.

Red Carpet is the first new Dior Addict Lipstick I tested out and I instantly fall in love. Needless to say this is a very beautiful red shade that will look great for nearly all skin tones. “A girl can’t make an entrance without her Lipstick.” I think it might be the one.
