Dior Fall 2011 Blue-Tie Collection Rouge Dior 651 Tourbillon Pink Swatch and Review

A lipstick is like a woman’s best friend especially when it’s also nourishing with lip enhancing property. Simply putting on a lipstick would brighten up the entire face because it adds color to the lips. Having healthy looking lips is something every woman want.

Dior has come up with 4 new Rouge Dior lip colors for fall 2011 Blue Tie collection. Today I’ll be talking about 651 Rose Tourbillon or Tourbillon Pink which sports a really nice radiant nude pink.

The packaging obviously is covered with Dior’s signature pattern in black with a jeweled Blue CD Emblem at the very top.

As you can see the sticker on the bottom shows the color, Rose Tourbillon Tourbillon Rose. Tourbillon is like a vertex or whirlwind. So I would assume the name is supposedly a whirlwind full of roses (pink color).

After opening the lipstick the pleasant scent of rose immediately fills the air. Just think that you are smooching on roses while you apply the lipstick.

The tip of the lipstick is in a nice lip-hugger shape and ready to use.

Dior has its name engraved on the lipstick when you twirl it out showing its proud ownership.

What’s really interesting about Tourbillon Pink is that there aren’t much visible shimmers unless you expose it in direct sunlight.

I first applied the lipstick to the skin to show you how the color looks. I was surprised by how pigmented and how moisturizing it was.

Applied on bare lips in natural indoor lighting. Without a doubt it felt unbelievably nourishing and the color seems like my own lip color but with a natural healthy look. It felt heavenly because of the amount of hydration it had. It was like super balm.

Under the sun, the lips look very subtle as well but with a much glossier look. At the same time I found it to be very long lasting. I had it on for over 5 hours before reapplying.

There’re 2 things I like the best about Toubillon Pink. The first thing that caught my attention was the rosy scent. For the longest time, I wasn’t really into scented lip products because some scents could be irritating. But with Dior’s rosy scent, it’s like when I’m talking I have rosy scent coming out of my mouth. And that feels really good. It is a nice feature after all especially for breath freshener (well maybe not that extreme). I hope the person in front of me can also smell it. The other thing that really stands out is the moisturizing effect. Into the fall season we”ll need all the nourishing we can get for our lips. Besides those, the color itself is a very natural looking nude pink which is super wearable and simply gorgeous. Looking at the fall collection the very smoky eye look from its limited edition palette (Smoking Blue) is so intense, it would not make sense to include a bright red lip color in the collection. It would seem like the colors are fighting one another. Obviously, there was a need for smooth look and feel. Then again, healthy lips are really a must!

This is a gorgeous pink on you. 5 hours is a long time to last. The engraving is super cute too.

That color is gorgeous, and I’m glad it’s moisturizing, as well. I have to check it out! And I agree – it fits right in with the smoky, intense eyes of next season.

Its the moisturizing factor that counts a lot! But hey natural and less flashy looking is not bad either.
