Dior Holiday 2011 Celebration Collection Makeup Palette For The Eyes Swatch and Review
During the weekend, I decided to go to a fair full of imported Japanese sweets and delicacy. As I was buying and munching on food, I thought how long has it been since I strolled around in the mall. Not being able to think clearly I decided to go anyways. Running around the mall looking for out of the ordinary stuff, I stumbled upon a glass case with 3 mysterious looking palettes. I rubbed my eyes and thought, “No way… Oh… Ahh…” It was Dior’s Holiday 2011 Celebration Collection shining in my eyes. But I thought, forget it I want to relax over the weekend and not think about any makeup for once!
It suddenly occurred to me that, why not just swatch and see how it looks? Guess what?! The 3 palettes mysterious went from the stockroom directly to my desk. I don’t know what happened in between but anyways, let’s begin with Dior Holiday 2011 Celebration Collection Makeup Palette For The Eyes.
The outside shell of this year’s holiday Makeup Palette For The Eyes is a shiny silvery eye catching box. I bet if I put this under a Christmas tree it would be attractive enough to get Santa to come over.
The back of the box has a full blown photo of the palette that is enclosed, so there is no way you could mistaken this palette for something else. My husband said for some reason he was thinking of Sony Playstation Portable when he saw this (he’s a weirdo).
The palette’s case design is very unique and feels like clothes were designed for this Eyeshadow Palette. Imagine it as a fine fabricated Dior dress with its modern, chic, and feminine look.
The back of the case feels very smooth with a leather touch to it. It also has the descriptions of each eyeshadow color. The net weight of this palette is 0.24 oz.
Within the box there is also a colored instruction booklet. The booklet is to help facilitate instructions on how to use the palette.
The first 2 steps are shown in regards to applying the base then the color.
Steps number 3 and 4 are then shown for the shine and the liner. It is pretty simple on how this palette works.
After opening the palette, I immediately noticed how fine the workmanship was. There is a long mirror on the flap. On the base of the palette are the 4 colors ranging from left to right being the following:
Base – Iridescent Eyeshadow 542
Colour – Iridescent Eyeshadow 682
Shine – Highlighting Eyeshadow 618
Liner – Liner 794
Finally, there is a two sided brush for ease.
Here are two up close shots of the palette.
This palette has got to be one of the most wearable yet pigmented palettes. Notice how intense the colors look with just one swipe? All 4 shades have different texture and finish to them. The base shade is a iridescent taupe that almost has a metallic finish. The color shade iridescent chocolate brown is more like a satin but feels really fine and smooth. The shine shade is a frosted vanilla with peach, silver and yellow shimmers. It becomes extremely pretty when blended out. And the liner shade is a completely matte espresso brown gel liner that has good pigmentation without creasing.
Our last shot is the shine shadow being blended. It was really hard to show the true beauty of it through a camera, besides the weather wasn’t operating either.
Here’s a short video showing you how it looks like in real life.
With a designer case look and most wearable colors, this year’s Dior Holiday Celebration Collection is sure to shine under the Christmas tree. I originally didn’t think I would be bringing this home if I hadn’t swatched it in the store. The colors are highly pigmented and versatile which is a big plus for work or anytime.

ugh… I need more neutral and brown shades like a hole in the head but damned if I don’t want this lol
Hmm…. let me think… when I think of something I will msg you.
I really like the packaging of this palette, so chic. The colors are great for everyday use too. Love the swatches.
Thanks. The packaging looks really nice and feels great.
I like this palette but I want to wait and see the rest of the collection, I’m deciding between this and the big palette.
The big one is good for everything whereas the small one is good for eyeshadow only.
I want this! I need this! I’m going through a phase of neutral now.
The packaging is adorable!!!
Yep Xmas came early this year and the packaging is so cute.
The shine shade is really pretty, it looks really close to one of the single shadows from Dior.
Yea the finish looks similar to the Crystal White single shadow.
Oh what a pretty palette. The packaging is very cute and girly. It’s nice that it comes with liner too, lovely neutral colors.
Yep =) I’m glad I swatched it. I almost thought I didn’t want it at the first sight.
It seems like a great neutral palette for the holiday season. I cant wait to see your other swatches and reviews.
They are coming in real soon.
i Totally want these palettes…Now i think im going to visit my DIOR counter this weekend…so bad!!!
I think it’s sold at Nordys. You need to check which store has it though.
I’m loving this palette! Will you be doing a post on the Dior Holiday collection nail polishes as well any time soon?
Yes Karla, of course I will do a review on the nail polishes. I really love Dior’s polish =)
hm… i love the colors and swatches!!!
but the packaging?? … looks kinda… cheapish? i dunno… doesn’t look luxurious =p
Well the packaging is more like a classic fabric that Dior would make for their dresses. It’s just something different. The best way to tell if you like it is by going to the counter and touch it.
Hi, I’m in love with the pallete.
Is already available? How much did you pay for it?
This eye palette along with the lip palette is $46 and the multi-look palette is $77, of course plus tax. Thanks for stopping by =)
