Dior Les Rouges Collection 747 Trafalgar Swatches and Review

“Le Rouge” means red in French. When it comes to nail polish, every brand will have one or ten reds out there. Red probably is one of the best selling nail polishes in the world because it is so traditional. But how many of them can be categorized as special? Most likely less than a handful. Dior’s Les Rouges Collection totally nailed the color red, presenting three stunning yet classy red polishes to our Dior fans.

The first of the three polishes in the collection is 747 Trafalgar. The story behind Trafalgar is simply: A poppy red with a hint of orange reminiscent of the spectacular red designs that Christian Dior sent out in the middle of his shows, known as the “Coup de Trafalgar” effect.

The color is very bright and passionate.

747 Trafalgar!

When the polish exposed in the sun, it shows a hint of shimmer.

With an up close snapshot we can see all the shimmers more clearly. The shimmers add a lot of depth to the red preventing it from looking bland.

Let me go ahead and show you the 1 coat and 2 coat swatch on a false nail. As you can see, the polish is highly pigmented. Even with one coat, it still gives a full coverage though it wasn’t as intense as 2 coats. The formula is also very rich and smooth in texture and provides a glossy finish.

Here is the nail polish with 2 coat application in natural indoor lighting.

In the sun, you can see it being high-gloss with specks of shimmers added to the shine.

The rest two pictures are all under different angles of the sun providing different viewing pleasure. Take a note at the different angles giving different results ranging from a creamier finish to sparkle finish.

Dior has reinvented the wheel by giving RED a brand new meaning. With hidden sparkles and shimmer dusts to adding hints of orange, Trafalgar shows different looks at different angles of lighting. It is still everyone’s favorite red but with an interesting and unique kick. What do you think of this color?
