Dior Nail Lacquer Icy Pink, Icy White Swatch and Review (Asian Exclusive)

Yesterday (June 19, 2011) is a special day. First of all it’s Father’s Day, and I hope everyone had a great time with her/his father. Also if you read my earlier post, you probably know by now that the new Miss USA is actually Miss California. Woohoo!!! I’m so happy for her. Last but not least, Fruity Lashes Google Friend Connect followers reached 4 digits. I can’t imagine it happened. It’s such an honor and accomplishment to me. Thanks so much everyone <3

Today I want to show you 2 nail polishes all the way from the other side of the world. Dior Icy White and Icy Pink were both part of the Moonlight Collection launched exclusively in Asian. Thanks to a great friend of my husband, V, I was able to get my hands on these nail polishes.

The Moonlight collection was fairly small, only had 5 items. Besides Icy White and Icy Pink polishes and lip glosses, the star item 5-Colour Eyeshadow #640 Moonray was a re-promote of #820 Moonray.

Let’s go ahead and take a look at the 2 polishes that I’m featuring today.

Both polishes are light pastel colors that’s hard to photograph without setting a neutral point. So I laid them side by side with a bare nail in between. By the way, both are swatched with 1 coat.

188 Icy Pink. It’s an innocent milky pink. It might look like a typical baby pink, but the Dior “secret” shimmers in it can not be duped from other brands. I’ll show you in the later swatches.

The texture of Icy Pink is in between jelly and creme. As you might guess, such a light shade tends to be sheer. That is the case with Icy Pink, but at the same time it’s not streaky nor does it leave any brush marks. With 2 coats I was able to achieve the color I wanted.

018 Icy White. It’s the perfect combination of moonlight and snow.

The texture with this is in between frost and metallic. It’s still on the sheer side but more opaque than Icy Pink. Goes on super smooth and leaves no brush marks either. The coverage is pretty good with 2 coat application.

Now comes the best part of these nail polishes. The magic is to layer Icy White on top of Icy Pink. Ta-da!!! Super gorgeous!

Let me show you more swatches before ending today’s post.

Icy Pink 2 coats in natural indoor lighting. No “secret” shimmers yet.

In direct sunlight, you can capture the tiny shimmers both in the polish bottle and on the nail. It’s a true Dior polish.
