Dior Spring 2012 Garden Party Color Collection Preview and Photos

After Women, flowers are the most heavenly creation.” – Christian Dior

Christian Dior grew up in Granville, on the cliffs of Normandy, in a house buffeted by strong winds, and seemingly unsuited to the creation of a garden. However, the young man’s creative strength and relentless hard work defied nature, and today one can still admire the garden in bloom and in particular, the fantastic rose garden planted with his own hands.

Christian Dior also loved the excitement of parties, and often hosted the aptly named “Grand Balls of the Century” with enchanted beauties from the Normandy coast and Paris alike. The theme of the festive garden is still alive today throughout many Dior creations. The Dior spring color collection is inspired by Dior’s fantastic garden.

OMG! Those are so gorgeous!!! I’m going to have to get it! Somehow I think that the colors in the clutch will not be very pigmented so I don’t know…so pretty though! I really, really love the 5-Couleurs “Garden Roses”. Have to remember about it so that I don’t miss out on getting it.

    Thanks for sharing!

If I ever get a chance to swatch these you will know how pigmented they are.

Dior does it again. I want everything. I shudder to think what next year’s limited edition numbered palette will be if this is just their spring offering.

Hmm… maybe next year’s limited edition palette will be a bit high tech? I hope it’s something breakthrough.

Speaking of high tech, have you seen the Dior Games Youtube video? I’m wondering what they’ll take inspiration from or if they’ll follow up on this rose theme?

I’ve seen the videos depicting the games before. We just need to wait about the inspiration.

For some reason, this collection doesn’t do anything for me…maybe it’s the pastel overload, I don’t know!

Jamilla, you probably need to see it in front of you to really decide. Sometimes, I don’t like what I see on the computer but when I am at the store I buy it. It really all depends.

The clutches look amazing. They incorporated some of the blue-tie elements inside. When do you think this will come out?
