Dior Spring 2012 Healthy Glow Awakening Blush Rosy Glow 001 Petal Swatch and Review

How real and natural can a blush ever get? Can it sense your skin moisture levels and react? Is it able to look like the color is flushed from within? After taking a look at Dior Spring 2012’s Healthy Glow Awakening Blush Rosy Glow in 001 Petal, we think it is achievable. Let’s take a look.

Dior’s Rosy Glow Blush will be available in January 2012.

The Blush comes in a weight of 0.26 oz (7.5g) in its iconic shiny silver box.

Once opened there is a plush pouch holding the palette inside. The pouch is obviously very soft and protects the palette in place against any scratches and dust. After taking out the palette, what you see is a shiny reflective silvery case design on the top and a clear bottom. Unlike a lot of metal casings, the new Rosy Glow palette doesn’t attract fingerprints easily yet at the same time it feels very smooth to the touch. A quick flip of the compact upside down shows us the makeup brush inside along with the label of the palette.

After opening the palette up what you see is a finely designed soft pink color blush that’s so fresh and vivid. Dior’s logo is embossed across the blush giving it a 3D effect.

There is also a protective layer of plastic against accidental smudges or dust. The brush itself is soft and very easy to use towards application.

The great thing about this compact that I haven’t mentioned yet is the introduction of Fresh Color Reveal, a technology that unveils ultra-natural customized color. What this translate to you is that the blush is able to adjust to the moisture of individual skin to make the cheeks blush. It’s almost like your own skin acting on its own.

In direct sunlight, the blush can be seen with fine details. Take a look for yourself, I snapped a few different angled shots.

After swatching the blush, I feel that the powder texture is finely milled and there is a slight rose fragrance as well. The blush also provided a healthy glow look with luminous color. The application was not only even, it was smooth as well. On the swatch before, the left side is heavier swiped while on the right side it was applied using the brush.

Dior’s blush is extraordinary, providing not only a hint of rosy fragrance, it also reveals a healthy natural looking glow. The color is highly blend-able and layer-able depending on the intensity you are looking for. Finally, I love how it detects and reacts to one’s moisture levels to deliver a unique blush color for everyone. Dior’s Healthy Glow Awakening Blush is the one blush you must try this spring!

This is gorgeous – it does seem a bit gimmicky but I can’t pass up the idea of having a HOT PINK Dior blush (even if it’s only hot pink in the compact). 🙂

The neon like pink really makes the blush go above and beyond. It’s so bright!

This is a tough one. I like the JS for their princess design and looks. I like Dior’s blush though because of how well the formula is made. I think the best way to see which one you want over the other is simply factor whether you like the design or not.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙂 would you say that Dior’s quality is superior than both JS blushes? Now between the 2 JS blushes, which one is superior quality-wise; compact vs loose?

Compact is probably better. JS is well known for the compact blushes.
