Dior Spring 2013 Cherie Bow Collection Swatches Review

2 weeks or so ago, the 3 nail polishes to the new Spring 2013 Cherie Bow collection took the stage on the blog. Today, the whole collection can be seen minus the blush. After playing with the colors, I found the colors to be very appropriate for a transition between now and Spring.

Dior Spring 2013 Cherie Bow Makeup Collection

Starting off the series is Dior Cherie Bow Makeup Palette 01 in Rose Poudre. It is a clutch like inspiration in a bow design from Miceli’s creation. To learn more about Miceli please check out the press. Being quite similar to 2012’s spring star item and also possibly 2012’s holiday that is going on right now, the palette features a lot more than you can bargain for. Holding both top and bottom together is a pearl like clasp. Beside’s the outside bow shape like display, the other differences is the color scheme. We haven’t gotten into the inside yet, so I will show it to you in a bit.

When you look inside the palette, there are two brushes that include a single and a double sided brush. Besides the four main colors that you see spread throughout the middle there is a lip color as well as an eyeliner. The lip color is stuck inside the trap door separating itself from the eye colors. From left to to right the eyeshadow colors includes pale pink, grey, and deep charcoal. Eyeliner shown is in deep black and the lip gloss is fresh pink.

Here, I have swatched all the colors from the palette. Pale Pink and grey are satiny smooth and highlighting whereas the deep charcoal is dark in color with sparse shimmers. The eyeliner proves itself to be deep in black without a slight hint of uneven color performance. The eye colors are pigmented and full of color, without a single trace of fallout. Finally, the lip gloss is quite moisturizing as it matches these colors perfectly.

Next we have the Dior Cherie Pinks Palette which is a Sephora exclusive. Similar to the Au Naturel palette from 4 months ago, the outside is in Dior’s famous cannage design except in a pink color. There is also a Dior “D” charm attached.

This palette is armed with 5 couleurs eyeshadow 714, 034, 079, 1 couleur eyeshadow 105, lipstick 674, lipgloss 183, 559 and lip balm. The palette also come with 2 double ended applicators. Colors from the eyeshadow side features a more grayish pink approach that is glowy and radiant vs the natural and highlighted pinks for the lip colors.

I have put up a pic as well comparing both Au Natural and this palette for you to see  here. Besides the colors being different, the interior is different as well if you compared both the picture directly above and the Au Natural palette. But enough of the palette and more about this new one.

As far as I can tell, the eyeshadows are quite fine with great pigmentation. They glide on evenly and smoothly onto the skin without being too sheer, but light enough to ensure a healthy spring look. The lip colors are all moisturizing especially the lip balm, they add both shine and color to the lips, which is essential for a glowy look.

What is a collection from Dior without eyeshadow quints? So Dior decided to bring two variations this Spring. But this time, not only are colors rosy and very girly, there is also a design on both that is added details for a more 3 dimensional look. By the way, the pattern is called Chérie Bow Edition.

The first of both quints is the Dior 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow in Rose Ballerine #724. Being light in color and more of a highlighting combination for the eyes, the colors are all within the same light range. Going clockwise, starting from the top left colors includes a light rosy pink, light blush pink, light dusty charcoal, light peach, and frosty pearly white in the middle.

From the quint, here is the swatch. Shimmery and highlighting can be seen from the shadows here. Colors aren’t only bright, they are like a light subtle hint of color but sparkly when light hits.

The other quint is the Dior 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow in Rose Charmeuse #854. To me this palette immediately looked like a boyfriend styled colors or maybe even like a rocker chick. The colors are a lot bolder and accented with an edgy feel. I haven’t had this feeling since the Hello Kitty Graffiti palette from last year, except this is more extreme. Sorta.

With colors of pearly silvery white, shimmery pink lilac, hot flushed pink, sharp edged black, and natural nude peach what more can be said about this? Let’s skip to the swatch!

From looking at the swatch, I found that 2 out of 5 colors are shimmery but everything is with an overall pigmented approach. Pigmented is probably the best description for both the hot pink and the sharp looking black color. The nude peach in the middle is probably the most interesting shade here, with shimmery specks that twinkle secretly.

After finishing the eye colors, the lips can’t be left out. If we leave it out the look isn’t complete! Therefore, here are the 3 lipsticks:

Dior Addict Lipstick in Charmante #437
Dior Addict Lipstick in Candide #457
Dior Addict Lipstick in Espiegle #687

I will show you the swatches to these 3 colors after 3 more pictures. That is because there was 2 things I left out from the press.

I left out both the Nail Glow and Lip Glow! Yes, I didn’t have info on them but what is better is the actual product look and the swatches you will see. Both bottles are transparent but with an extremely hot pink color as a hue for liquid.

Now let’s get back to the swatches of the lip products. All 3 lipsticks are really easy to apply on bringing tones from peachy pink all the way to lilac like colors with superbly tiny shimmers. The lip glow at the end is gel creme as it is more or so along the lines of a lip gloss. It can be used to apply a glowing effect to the lips. When I mean glowing effect, it is a customized color so that every lip is different. It is like an enhancement to your copyrighted lips. The concept is much similar to the Healthy Glow Awakening Blush and the lip balm, the color reacts to our own body chemistry. Super cool isn’t it?

Last but not least, here is the Nail Glow! The full name of it is actually “Instant French Manicure Effect Whitening Nail Care”. It is to be used alone one or two coats on bare nail, so there is no other nail color underneath it. The Nail Glow is a magical formula… a unique one I meant… that whitens the tips of your nails while enhancing the pink colors of the nail body. Not only it gives the nails a very clean French mani look, there is also high shine associated with it. It’s like having a French gel nail but without the heavy feeling and of course the curing time. Anyways, if you did want to see the nail polishes from this season you could check it out here.

Light to bold rosiness is what this season is all about from Dior. I love this season so much that it brings a cold Winter like mix into Spring. The colors are what can be said as a girl with a flare or simply a shy girl. I especially love the the new Nail Glow. Both that and The Lip Glow brings out a color that only I have. I even tried them on the hubs, he had a much different color.

Dior Spring 2013 Cherie Bow Collection nail polishes will be available Spring 2013 at NordstromNeiman Marcus, and Dior.

I love the cuteness of this collection, and the bow palette is the big winner here for me! It’s actually a lot more wearable than I thought it would be, really love it :).
