Dior Summer 2011 Electric Tropics 5 Colour Eyeshadow Palette 534 Rosy Nude and 754 Rosy Tan

Summer is the hottest season of the year. When having such vibrant colors like Aloha and Paradise, the best way to balance it out is to have nude skin and natural soft eyes. This year Dior’s Electric Tropic consists of two 5 colour eyeshadow palettes which are neutral yet perfect for the summer.

The box opens up like so. I see a velour pouch like always and a folded instruction booklet.

Luxurious palettes with luxurious protection!

One side of the instruction booklet shows an eye chart on how to use the palette.

The other side has detailed description of color variations and profession tips for Dior makeup artist. Not a lot of companies actually give out tips and instructions for eye makeup nowadays. Thumbs up for Dior!

The beautiful dark navy blue eye palette has silver lining on the outer edge with “CD” embedded underneath. Modern and sophisticate!

534 Rosy Nude

754 Rosy Tan

Opens up the case, there’s a plastic divider sitting on top of the palette to keep it clean. There’re also 2 duo-ended sponge applicators included.

Rosy Nude has 5 light versatile neutral shades. Clockwise from top left are: soft beige shimmer; light taupe satin, soft peachy pink iridescent, medium brown satin and soft cotton candy pink sheen in the middle.

Rosy Tan, as the name suggests, has a deeper and bronzier tone than Rosy Nude. 5 colors from top left are: soft pink shimmer, chocolate brown with gold shimmer, light taupe-ish tan satin, bronzy taupe soft metallic, and light beige cream sheen in the middle.

All 5 colors have different textures and finishes though they’re all finely milled. From where I swatched at the counter, they’re super smooth and easy to blend. The pigmentation is really good too.

Finally another close up look at Rosy Tan.

Since both palettes are lovely I just had to get them both. Which one do you like better? I bet you have a hard time just like me. They’re available now at Dior.com for $58.

Rosy tan is so gorgeous! I think they are both pretty but since I have a medium complexion I would go with Rosy tan hehe 🙂

Gosh they are gorgeous palettes, esp Rosy Nude. Japanese eyeshadow palettes include instructions on how to wear their eyeshadows but usually only one suggestion is made…on the back of the box or something.
