Dior Velvet Eyes Multi-Wear Adhesive Eyeliner Patches Review

When I first saw Kate Moss’ Dior Addict Lipstick commercial, I told everyone I met that day, “Did you see Kate Moss for Dior Addict Lipstick commercial? That’s some serious eyeliner.” Desired and jealous at the same time, I never dreamed of having her eyes in my life. Because the style belongs to professionals and runway models. Not long ago I got news about Dior’s eyeliner patches, whether they are for one shot or reusable, I know I must have them. Fortunately they’re multi-wear. Today let me show you the Dior Velvet Eyes Multi-Wear Adhesive Eyeliner-Patches.

This is what’s inside the box.

a instruction sheets in different languages and a Velvet Eyes Glue.

This is the close up of the glue. I didn’t get to test out the glue this time, because the liners were sticky enough. But eventually this should come in handy.

On the top portion of the folder, it has a beautiful picture with Dior’s runway eye look.

And a description of how these liners were born.

I almost didn’t notice her brow was in a weird shape. Maybe they did it on purpose because the liner really draws attention.

On the middle portion, there are these 4 haute pairs of liners sticking on a sheet of wax paper.

On the bottom it has a detailed instruction, “Apply Velvet Eyes to dry, makeup-free skin…

This is exactly what I’m going to do. Sorry about my bare brow and no makeup eye. I did have a fake lash on.

My first attempt was this, same shape as the model’s. Bad move! It took me a good 5 minutes to figure out which one goes on which side and which direction to stick it on. I think this pair is the most complex one out of the 4. See I wasn’t doing too good, there’s a gap between the liner and the lash. I also thought the curve didn’t quite fit my eye shape.

But I did get my brow done right, thanks to this nifty tool, Dior Brow Shaping Stencil. See the review here.

How does it look now after filling in the gap with a black liquid liner?

Second pair I tried was a bit more glammed up version with 3 clear Swarovski crystals on the outer edge. This time it took me no time to apply it and the result is a lot better. The small gap could be easily fixed. Remember I said that the curve of the first pair didn’t fit my eye? It’s actually adjustable. This time I just turned the edge a bit and it fits almost perfect. I just needs more practice.

I also changed my brow to a narrower and more angled shape, but still close to my natural brow shape.

The third pair I went all out with this jewel studded gem. I think I nailed it.

Last but not least the classic Kate Moss style thick winged liner. Once again, no mistake!

I was totally thrilled by these fresh off the runway liner patches. These are definitely too haute for everyday use, but for special moments like proms, parties and clubs, nothing will get you more attention than these. Just remember to try them on beforehand so you get a hang of it. It really isn’t hard at all. My suggestion is start from the outer corner, then line the bottom edge with your lash line, finally press on the tip. If you did get a small gap like I did, you can always fill it in with a liner.

So you may wonder if they feel comfortable or how long it lasts? My answer is you will feel them but still bearable for you to wear them for several hours. That should be long enough for clubbing or prom.

After all, it’s a dream come true for me to have these stunning eyeliners like Kate Moss. Get yours at Sephora before it’s sold out.

It looks fabulous on you, but I don’t think I’m coordinated enough! I can barely manage fake lashes on occasion!

You buy it all, huh? All the super limited, super expensive high-end stuff XD Man that’s why I love your blog. Loving the first design even though I wasn’t fond of the whole idea when I spotted the first leaked pics last month!

The eye patches can be used a lot of times. I really don’t know how many times you can use them. I used it twice already and it’s still working!

These eye patches look so fancy. The crystal ones look extremely nice. But I wonder how long each can last for usage.

    • admin September 17, 2011 at 4:49 PM

You can use it for a while. I haven’t figured out how many times before it is deemed unusable.

Every now and then one sees products that first make you go “huh?” and then “oh…”. This is one of them xD
That last one totally reminds me of Amy Winehouse.

    • admin September 17, 2011 at 4:49 PM

Ahh I can picture Amy Winehouse in these. That’s true her eyes had something that look like these eye patches. XD

Amazing liners. How do you feel when you have these on? Does it hurt when you open your eyes?

I am living vicariously through you. When I first saw these patches I wanted them so badly. I have trouble applying regular liner to my eyes so Im not sure I would do well with these but they are so cool!

    • admin September 17, 2011 at 4:51 PM

The patches are easy to apply on. They are cool too because of the bold look you get after it’s on!
