Dior Vernis 461 Favorite Pink Pompadour Swatch and Review

Pompadour is a tall hair style, usually for men. It got really popular in the 1950s. Just think Elvis Presley’s hardcore rock’in image. It would be so cool if his pompadour was pink though.

Anyway, we are not talking about hair today. Rather, we have Dior Vernis 461 Favorite Pink Pompadour with a full blast review. As you might remember there was a quick swatch of it back in July 19, 2011 which can be found here.

Starting off with a picture of it with the sunlight, there is a lot of shimmers shown floating throughout the bottle.

Here is another shot of it in the sun from a different angle.

Finally, here is the up close shot where you can see how much shimmers are contained in the bottle.

While swatching them, I found out it’s actually quite pigmented. Why would I be surprised?! Dior polish is known for having fantastic formulation and pigmentation. I hardly ever see a bottle that fails. With even one coat (left) it was already looking good, while two coats (right) turned flawless.

During the indoor shot where the shimmers are pretty much evenly distributed, and the nails look quite glossy as well.

Here is a different angle of the indoor shot.

Now under the sun at an angle where light is not directly reflecting the nails, you can see the color is super flattering and good for everyday wear.

Obviously, with a direct sun light hit, the shimmers become very noticeable and it even sparkles. It’s like pink porcelain.

Now, comparing 461 Favorite Pink Pompadour to 386 Cherry Flower that I find similar! You can see my 386 Cherry Flower post here.

Immediately you might notice Favorite Pink Pompadour has a hotter pink look than Cherry Flower. Cherry Flower strikes a cooler toned pearly pink look. Cherry Flower also doesn’t have as much shimmers than Favorite Pink Pompadour. The formula when compared, Cherry Flower is really a predecessor because you can immediately tell the difference after a coat of nail polish.

If you want to apply a pink polish but cannot find one that looks great for everyday… then you’ve found your polish! Favorite Pink Pompadour is one that is easy to wear but also gives a good vibe without looking “trying too hard”. The subtle shimmers add a lot of dimensions to the pink color. Maybe that’s why it’s called pompadour. But most important, the formula of this polish is superb. It dries fast and lasts forever thanks to the chip resistant ingredients.

It is feminine but while I was coating it on my nail, it has great formula!
