Dior Vernis 707 Gris Montaigne and 349 Pink Boa
It’s Spring time! Well almost. Even though we’re still in January, a lot of cosmetic brands have already launched Spring collection at their counters. The other day when I was walking in Nordstrom checking out sale items, I spotted these Dior polishes along with a lot of Spring products, including brands like Chanel, Guerlain, Bobbi Brown, etc.
707 Gris Montaigne, 349 Rose Fanfreluche (Pink Boa)
Recently I’m really into nude, pink and beige kind of color for my nails. So I just had to grab Pink Boa though it’s not really that unique.
Gris Montaigne is Dior’s very iconic color for the city of Paris. It’s part of the “Gris City” collection along with Bond street and NY 57th.* I will be featuring those two polishes in another post.
Pink Boa is a limited edition shade exclusively from Nordstrom. While I was doing some research for this post, I found out that there was another 349 Candy Pink from Dior. I do not own Candy Pink and from the pictures online, the two colors look very similar. So I’m assuming during Dior’s revamp, they changed the name from Candy Pink to Pink Boa. Correct me if you have insider information.
Both Gris Montaigne and Pink Boa have the rich creamy texture with very subtle shimmer that you can barely tell.
Let’s see some swatches first.

Review:
As you probably already know that Dior recently revamped their nail polish line. The new chip-resistant formula protects and embellishes the nails, while the tapered wide brush makes the application even easier. Formula wise I haven’t wear these long enough so I can’t tell you if they’re long lasting, but I did notice one thing about these polishes. They’re super fast drying! The day when I was in Nordstrom, I swatched these Dior polishes first; then I walked next door to the Chanel counter to see their Spring collections. It was probably only 5 steps away. By the time I asked for a tissue to remove the Dior polishes, they’ve already completely dry. So I had to ask for a polish remover.
Besides the fast drying, I also love the milky matte finish of these polishes. The coverage is good and I don’t see much brush marks at all which is very important when I choose my nail polishes. They both have the slightest shimmer that you can’t easily detect; but you know they’re there. I guess that’s what it sets Dior apart from other brands.
Needless to say, Dior’s revamp was a success. It remains one of my favorite nail polish brands. Stay tuned for Bond street and NY 57th.
*City Gris (Dior website)
As an invitation to an urban voyage, Dior creates an exclusive collection of 3 Dior Vernis. The collection “Gris City” reinvents Monsieur Dior’s beloved color grey for the 3 capitals of fashion and luxury: Paris, London and New York…
Gris Montaigne, PARIS : Sleek and elegant, the very iconic color of the Dior House.
Bond Street, LONDON : A grey London fog infused with a touch of blue, urban chic…
NY 57th, NEW YORK : A metallic asphalt, a homage to the dusky light of the Manhattan skyline.

Pink Boa is so pretty! These polishes look like they apply smoothly, but I don’t think I could ever bear to part with $21 for a nail polish 🙁
