Dior Vernis Czarina Gold, Timeless Gold, Bronze Libertine, and Pink Kimono

During the last week I picked up 4 bottles of Dior nail vernis. That was a lot from Dior. Normally they only release seasonal nail polishes at 1 or 2 colors the most. This time I feel like it’s Christmas time already for me. As far as I know, 2 of them are from Holiday 2010, 916 Czarina Gold and 226 Timeless Gold. The other 2 I got were 706 Bronze Libertine and 483 Pink Kimono. These are actually revamped version of Dior polish with new brush design. The outside packaging still looks the same though. I’ll show you what the brush looks like in a bit.

From left to right, 916 Czarina Gold, 226 Timeless Gold, 706 Bronze Libertine and last but not least 483 Pink Kimono.

I had the Czarina Gold on for a couple days before I took it off. I kind of like the color, it’s that deep rich chocolate brown with small gold glitters which shows up beautifully under the sun. But I’m not a fan of it’s finish. It’s not as smooth as other Dior polishes. You can definitely feel the glitters without a top coat. Since I was going to take it off anyways I didn’t bother with a top coat.

What an interesting color! It seems green doesn’t it?

Now it looks more black.

Now let’s take a look at the rest colors.

483 Pink Kimono. It’s a lovely hot bubble gum pink with almost matt finish. I really love it.

706 Bronze Libertine. It’s a lighter shade of brown with subtle shimmers. The finish is a lot smoother than the Czarina Gold. I actually like this a lot better.

226 Timeless Gold. The color is a cool toned silver with gold undertone.

So which one is your favorite? Now let’s talk about the new brush. It’s wider and flatter than the old version. Supposedly it’s easier to apply and the new formula will make the polish last longer.

For the ones who might be curious about how my nails look with the UV gels. Here are some pictures that I took after taking off those Dior polishes. The first one is with ibd introductory kit pink and white. It’s been a week and a half so you can see a small gap between my nails and the cuticle area. There’s no chipping or peeling, absolutely great.

And this one is with OPI Axxiúm soak off system. I actually put Bubble Bath as my first layer and then Princesses Rule on top. I I took this picture 4 days after I did my nails.

So as you can see the Axxiúm looks more natural but it was not as durable as the ibd, at least for the soak off formula. I haven’t tried the ibd soak off so I’m not comparing them apple to apple. Also the Axxiúm is a bit runnier than the ibd so you need to be careful, or else you’ll have a hard time wiping off the sides. The ibd gels are truly odorless but Axxiúm has a tiny bit of an acid smell. It was too bad though. Color wise if you’re a fan of OPI then you’ll most likely like the Axxiúm. You can also find the regular nail polish just in case you need a touch up. But ibd offers some nice colors as well. Honestly I love both systems and they both look great and easy to do.
