ELLIS FAAS Creamy Eyes New Shades and ELLIS CLIPS Swatches and Review

Originally Ellis Faas has a set of Creamy Eyes shadows that provide most basic yet versatile colors. We have a blog post talking about 2 of the colors, E103 and E105. Recently, expanding the empire, 7 new shades have hit the market from Ellis Faas Creamy Eyes collection. They are vibrant and exotic in Ellis Faas’ award-winning bullet pen style design. What can be better than this?

Attached with the Creamy Eyes bullet eyeshadow pens, are the newly invented Ellis Clips. For Ellis, she always wanted something that can tidily organize her makeup products, whether it’s on her vanity table or in her purse when on-the go. So when she first debuted her own makeup brand, she brought us the state of art ingenious designed Ellis Holder. It holds up to 7 pens including a foundation pen and a face powder which will be probably more than enough to fill all your makeup needs. But say what if you just started indulging the brand and got 2 pens for now, or you only need a milky lips for touchups at work? You don’t want to bring the holder but still want organized makeup. Ellis has a solution for you, Ellis Clips.

There are 2 sizes of Ellis Clips, small one for the regular non foundation pens and big one for the foundation pens. The clips are one of the kind in the beauty industry. I haven’t seen anything quite like it. Each clip is made of light weight plastic which is connectable with other clips. It might look a lot like rusted copper but it is just the special effects. If you haven’t notice the pen style design with clips, it looks like bullets in clips from weapons. Design is unique and very creative. The packaging is also simple and low cost which translates into an affordable price tag of $2 per piece.

Here are some photos showing the assembled clips and how the pens inserted.

So I noticed that the clips can also be twisted and clipped up in such a way that it looks like a barrel of the gun. The clips connected makes the pens stand up right in a stable manner. It also makes your own Ellis Holder!

So enough talk about the clips, let’s move on to the Creamy Eyes. 7 new shades are added into the collection:

E113 – Navy Blue
E114 – Bordeaux Red
E115 – Purple
E116 – Lilac
E117 – Mint Green
E118 – Light Blue
E119 – Yellow Ochre

Creamy Eyes provide anti-aging formulations which includes a special blend of flower and coffee extracts to smooth the skin and reduce wrinkles. Its formulation is velvet smooth and  long lasting. The brush design provides an easy to use color glide while smoothly applying the color without additional tools. What you want to do is dispense the shadow using the brush, afterwards fade the edges with the fingertips. The shadow is fairly fast drying, and once it’s set, there’s no budge.

The click pen mechanism has improved a lot for these new shades. As far as I know, the pens are now pre-tested at the factory for fast product release. In our experiment with these 7 pens, we have the initial product coming out anywhere between 5 clicks to 30 clicks. We also notice that right before the product comes out, the turning pressure increases. That’s something to be aware of when dispensing the pens so you don’t end up turning too much and waste product.

Here are the 7 shades swatched in 2 photos, the first one has shades E113 to E116 and the second photo E117 to E119. The color formula is very pigmented and doesn’t require large dispensing to get what you want. The texture is indeed creamy and smooth with effortless blending ability. The semi-matte finish contains subtle shimmer that enhance the overall look of the color. It’s more dimensional compare to pure matte shadows. Although being high pigmented, these shadows feel weightless on the lids and wear comfortably without caking or cracking. I also tried to rub it after the shadow dries, there’s no color transfer nor does it smear.

The product design really makes application a breeze and the overall experience is incredible. Besides the high quality formula itself, the new color range is more vibrant than the original classic shades. They definitely provide more variety and are more fun to play with, though still being highly wearable for all occasions. The clips, being the coolest beauty gadget, also make carrying your favorite pens without losing them a dream come true.
