ELLIS FAAS Ellis Holder Classic and Red Velvet Limited Edition Pen Holder Review

Wouldn’t it be so easy if all our makeup products that we needed were in a one stop case? Ellis Faas had that vision in mind with her makeup and holder. The holder is an ingenious design where you could mix and match your favorite colors or whatever your mood wants. From holding foundation pen to powder compact, blush, eyeshadow, concealer, lipstick and even more. The holder is the best thing for all Ellis Faas fans!

What I will be featuring today are the 2 holders from EllisFaas.com, classic and red velvet, each are sold for $35.00.

The classic edition is a sleek silvery streamline design whereas the red velvety edition is an accented design from 2010 holiday. Both work the same except one is more for character and the other is a straight elegance. For today’s purpose, I will use the red velvet case for demonstration.

The design of the holder represents a unique tribal look. According to Ellis Faas from her website, the inspiration came from:

“When I was young, we spent most Decembers enjoying long dinners in my father’s library drinking and playing games in front of its open fire. The room had the look and feel of an English gentlemen’s club, complete with red-flocked wallpaper. So I always knew that for our first limited-edition Holder, I wanted to use that technique. For the velvet drawing, I wanted something as warm and intimate, yet without religious connotations, so I drew inspiration from more universal, nearly tribal designs I have always loved.”

If you pop open the top you will be able to find a foam piece that holds the pens inside the case intact without any scratches or bumping noises while you carry the holder.

The holder itself has 7 slots total to hold 7 pens of which you can mix and match them all to your liking. The middle slot is for the Skin Veil pen only but the other 6 slots around it can be filled with products such as lipstick, mascara, eye shadow, blush, and even more!

Here is a demonstration of what I have put inside the holder. As you can see they snug inside very tidily.

On the other side of the holder is a turning mechanism. Once you turn the mechanism the 6 pens except the foundation would prop up one by one. It is made to ensure you don’t chip your nails trying to take out a pen or two.

The final feature that I would like to show you is the top cap. On the opposite side to where we saw the foam is a flip open mirror with a insert space. What could that insert space be for?

It is non other than the powder compact! On my previous post (here), you can see the sticky on the back side. Remove the sticky and drop the pan inside, it’ll hold the powder in place. Notice the pan is slightly smaller than the insert space. It’s easier to take the empty pan out when you need to replace it. I did wish the mirror cap could be snap closed or had magnetic mechanism, as one of my holders is a bit loose.

The double sided sponge from the compact powder also fits nicely inside. Once your done, close the cap and your ready to go! The fully loaded holder is at a comfortable weight, for me it isn’t too heavy considering there are 7 products inside. My other cosmetic bag probably is more heavier than the holder.

Ellis Faas’s products are made with the most intricate design. Her whole line of makeup all the way to the holder seem to be very organized. Having the ability to put everything you need in a holder that is not only sleek, it is also for easy on the go access as well. Not to say it makes a perfect center piece for any vanity table. Ellis Faas’ holder and makeup are perfect gifts for Christmas for your loved ones and yourself. It’s a whole set that looks very luxurious and fancy. But if you like the Red Velvet design, you better act quickly as it is a limited edition that can be gone any time.

I’m totally getting it. It looks really cute and I love the fact it’s not heavier than a makeup bag. I do wish it was a little cheaper.

I bought the red one. The pattern looks so pretty. But I may need another holder since I’m planning to get more milky lips soon.

The red one looks the best during the holiday because of the flavor and style.

I have the same problem with my lid. It doesn’t close very tightly but still good enough to use it at home.

This holder almost looks like a thermos haha but I really like the red velvet pattern.

Lovely collection! I see that you have the mascara, how was it?

The mascara’s wand is really easy to use. It does build up lashes and the design on the case is pretty standard for Ellis Faas. The bullet shape design makes the product very unique to newcomers that are not aware of Ellis Faas.
