ELLIS FAAS ELLIS SKIN Compact Powder S401 S402 Swatch and Review

Compact powders come in all shapes and sizes. Some are standalone while others come in a set. Ellis Faas’ compact powder was made for her holder, which is able to carry a whole set of makeup. But it’s not only the shape or size that counts, it is also the formula and the finish after application. Today, I will be showing you the compact powder from Ellis Faas in S401 and S402.

The Ellis Faas compact powder comes in a total of 3 colors ranging from S401 to S403. Each compact cost $30.00 and can be found at www.EllisFaas.com. Each compact powder comes in a slim packaging that include one compact (5g) and a double sided sponge applicator.

On the back of the packaging shows the list of ingredients. But there is a star item in this compact, seaweed extract, that keeps the skin soft and supple. The compact also has SPF 15.

Each compact and sponge are separately packed and neatly sealed in its own zip bag to protect from dust and particles that might otherwise damage the sponge and the compact. This has to be the most cost effective packaging I’ve ever seen for a compact powder. It’s a great way to keep the cost down while providing quality product.

The double sided sponge is very soft and easy to hold. There is a use for the velvety side of this puff, and it is to dust the face.

On the back of each compact powder is an adhesive sticky which is suppose to be stuck to the compartment inside the Ellis Faas holder. More on the holder to come in another post.

S401 and S402 seems quite different in the pan though they both look nearly transparent on the skin. S401 is a lighter and neutral shade whereas S402 is warmer toned.

I tried to swatch them on my arm but the picture didn’t come out right, so I decide to show you the color comparison on the sponge. The powder is very smooth and creamy, it almost melts into the skin and leaves a natural veil. With several light sweeps, it instantly takes away shininess and minimizes the appearance of lines and pores, giving face a soft focus effect.

Ellis Faas’ compact powder is great for setting makeup especially when using the included double sided sponge. It is light weight but lasts all day. The powder not only provides a polished look, is also keeps skin moist. The lighter shade 401 was the perfect color for my facial color whereas the darker shade 402 proved to be more of a tanned look. Ultimately, what you get is a natural looking mattifying effect that looks perfect on the face. Stay tuned for the holder…

I really want this compact powder but Sephora doesn’t even carry them. Where do they have Ellis Faas in store? Do you know?

I think the only store that carries Ellis Faas for Sephora is the Meating Packing store in NYC. However, you can go to Space NK.

These compact powder looks nice if they come in their own packaging as well, or if you can choose to buy a case, that’d be really great. I like the idea of having double sided sponge. Thanks for the review.

I recently bought some Ellis Faas makeup products. They are very lovely. My favorites so far are the milky lips and blush. I need to try these compact powders and the holder.

I just ordered the powder #S401 and realize I have no where to put it haha. It seems I’m going to need the holder now.

The holder makes things compact all in one. However, you might want to get everything else to fill up all the holes in the holder.

I have this powder in some light shade. It’s nice, but kind of useless if you don’t put it into makeup holder or some customizable palette.

You know, I think compact powders became kind of fetish for women. They like it pretty packed, so that they could bring it into public. I would like to show this one, though it’s functional etc. 🙂

Hey, the compact powder inside the holder makes things compact that is for sure. Your bringing essentially 8 pieces of makeup with you if you have it all in a holder.

I can really use some moisturizing powder compacts like this. Do you think it’s good enough for winter?

It should be. I don’t think there is any problems since it is pretty moisturizing after all.

This powder looks promising when you said it keeps the skin moist. I need a powder for dry skin without looking chalky, so maybe this might work for me. Thanks!
