Eva Mendes for Thierry Mugler Angel Eau De Toilette Preview

Angel Eau De Toilette a sparkling comet in the glamour galaxy, a new invitation to addictive dreams…

“I always wanted to make a perfume which would have the same resonance for everyone, something like tenderness, or childhood and I wanted there to be such a sensual contact with this perfume, that you almost feel like devouring the person you love.”

– Theirry Mugler

In the beginning there was Angel… A gourmand perfume that has become legendary.

This unadulterated fantasy became an event when it was created in 1992.
Like nothing seen or smelled before!

The truly palpable provocation of this first “Oriental—Gourmand” toppled basic codes of the perfume world and sparked its own revolution.

Reminiscent of Thierry Mugler’s childhood dreams, Angel embodies the genius of unbridled imagination, the boldness of a true original and the folly of extravagance.

Inimitable perfume… One cannot help but be astounded by the trail it leaves. An addiction becomes an obsession. It is somewhere between regressive pleasure and a voluptuous bite, with red berries, pralines, vanilla and heady patchouli, satisfying our desires for rich raw materials that can bring our senses to the point of ecstasy.

A shimmering bottle… A blue star that has became its signature emblem, forever shining around the entire world.

Totally original, instantly recognizable, Angel Eau de Parfum awakens the femme fatale and transforms her into a glamorous diva.
The mystery it elicits feeds the creation of a myth…

To follow this delicious Eau de Parfum, Thierry Mugler expands his Glamour Galaxy and invites us into another exhilarating dream, capable of giving the great thrill of those first moments…

From star to comet a new eau de toilette

Almost 20 years later, a new satellite appears.
And Angel’s dazzling star gives birth to an undulating comet.

From deep addiction to light addiction,
From excess to suavity,
From overdose to nuance,
This perfume of irrationality will tempt you with its insidious provocation.

The sublimated star became a modern icon.
The instinct of seduction remains intact, as though etched into its DNA.
She lives her life instead of dreaming about it and accepts her ambivalence with grace, assurance and without inhibition.
Inaccessible yet able to abandon herself completely, she reveals herself slowly without need to be provocative.

Familiar yet still uniquely different, Angel surprises you with rapture… captivating the wearer in a new way. Exquisite to experience, easy to call your own, it is setting the trajectory to a new generation of women.

The power of an undulating fragrance

Empowering and seductive, with the same carnal sensuality… but embracing new melody.
More than just a difference in concentration, Angel Eau de Toilette is a unique harmony of scents composed by Amandine Marie
(Robertet).

It has become “Oriental—Gourmand—Powdery”, revealing new charms, woven together with softness and subtlety.
Its provocation is now more intimate, stirring the desire of a graceful and enigmatic dream.
It is shrouded in a enigmatic halo, melding with the skin, inciting a connection, and an irresistible attraction.

The secrets of this enveloping cloud composed of three sensual waves that melt into one captivating harmony:

Celestial wave
A pure fragrance enveloping the smell of the wind, the sky and beyond.
Bergamot is the energy behind this breath of fresh air. It meets with red berries in a motion that is perfectly in synch — explosive with
a hint of pepper.

Delicious wave
The pleasures of light-hearted sweets, the voluptuousness of childhood candies, and that feeling of breaking the rules…
The sweets become delicate and vaporous: subtle dabs of praline, berries so plump you want to eat them or imagine them in a tangy jelly…

Voluptuous wave
Cunningly candid, the patchouli-vanilla accord is unsettling. It is tempered by cedar, a newcomer to the woody casting of the original fragrance. White musk adds nuance to the base of the fragrance, secretly feeding this unique addiction.

The brilliance of a whirling comet

The star is transformed to surprise you, almost leaving you breathless.
It catches you unawares and then enchants you.

The bottle is round on the front and faceted on the back, with a shimmering star, sculpted in brilliant silver, adorning the top.
The ultimate discovery… A brightly shining little star is perched at its tip.
This precious detail solidifies the unique beauty of the bottle.

Faithful to Angel’s tradition, the Comet, available in 40 ml and in 80 ml, is refillable, thanks to its eco-source bottle (40 ml).

Experience the precious and encompassing language

Remove the star-shaped cap from the bottle, holding it securely.
Extend your arm and spray the fragrance in front of you generously, while turning the bottle in a circular motion, producing a
perfume cloud.
Take a step into the vibrant halo. Let its charm take hold of you.
The Eau de Toilette envelopes you like a caress and the fusion takes place.

Become a part of the circle, the Angel community.

In 1992, Thierry Mugler pioneered a unique and personalized relationship in the world of Haute-Parfumerie by creating the unique code and the card inserted in each fragrance product. It is his personal invitation to all those who love Angel, to join The Circle. Members are given rare and exclusive previews into each stroke of genius and each new collection.

EVA MENDES’ SENSUALITY… A CAPTIVATING MUSE

A glance back on this amazing portfolio of beauty: Estelle Lefébure, Jerry Hall, Amy Wesson, Anna Maria Cseh, Bianca Balti, etc. The most beautiful women have successively embodied the ultra glamorous angel. Most recently, Naomi Watts, the Hollywood actress with evanescent blond hair has represented Thierry Mugler’s dream.

To write this new chapter in the Glamour Galaxy and reignite the enticing and explosive dimensions of Angel, the designer-perfumer once again called on an international star. Powerful one moment and demure the next, both femme fatale and spontaneous, Eva Mendes personifies the very facets of sensuality encompassing Angel. Glamorous woman for the Eau de Parfum and beguiling icon for the Eau de Toilette, she embodies all the addictions of Angel.

Once you commit, once you fall in love with Angel, you wear it for a lifetime.” Eva Mendes

Beyond her obviously flawless physical beauty, this American actress, with Cuban roots, mesmerizes all with her character and ability to play a wide variety of roles. From her attention-grabbing performance in ‘Training Day’ (Antoine Fuqua) to ‘We Own the Night’ (James Gray), she has gone on to undertake many other prestigious roles (‘Very Bad Cops’, ‘Hitch’, ‘Last Night’, ‘Ghost Rider’…) working with the greats (Franck Millier, the Farrelly brothers…). There is not a role she cannot play, from comedy to drama, blockbusters or independent films.

A MESMERIZING CAMPAIGN

New muse, new campaign… Always spectacular, the Angel woman rediscovers a certain type of intimacy in her perfume and in her dreams, expressing a seduction more moving than ever.

One woman, two stories… A deserted train station. A shimmering clear night. The Angel woman waits for the train that, with its guiding star, will take her to the depths of her dreams. In the “Dream Machine”, comfortably seated, she sprays her wrist lightly. After scarcely a whiff, she gives into pleasure, eyes closed, and takes off… Her first dream brings her back to childhood memories of a fair, the Ferris wheel and cotton candy. This vision becomes hazy and takes the shape of the Eau de Toilette bottle followed by the Eau de Parfum bottle that sets her off on her next trip. She dances in this day dream, as though completely spellbound, among constellations of stars. Enchanting… And the imaginary odyssey ends, giving way to reality. As she gets off the train, immersed in a blue light, her exalted expression keeps you guessing about the thrill and the transgression of her experience. Looking up to the sky that welcomed her, she takes the ultimate memento of her recent experience out of her trench coat pocket: the scintillating Angel bottle.

The worldwide campaign, conceived by Thierry Mugler and orchestrated by Christophe de Lataillade, the brand’s Creative Director, has brought together an exceptional cast. British director, Baillie Walsh, directed the film and the image was immortalized by the duo of fashion photographers Inez van Lansweerde & Vinoodh Matadin.

I had an experience of seeing the bottle in the store and it was very different compared to the regular everyday looking bottles. It’s pretty unique.

I saw the dripping coffee like display at the store and was wondering what it was all about. Now it’s all connecting to this.

I have always loved Angel since it first came out, but it can be overpowering. I learned a little goes a long ways. The new bottle is beautiful!

For some perfume you really need to spray little bits vs a lot because it can be a little too much sometimes.

This perfume is by far one of the better ones from Theirry Mugler. The pictures look so sci-fi.
