The Foundation Series – SK-II Facial Treatment Cream Foundation 330 Radiant Ochre Swatch and Review

Coming from the luxury skincare brand SK-II, this jar of cream foundation is a match made in heaven. It’s an ultimate facial treatment to create the flawless canvas with injected skincare ingredients to help anti-age and look your greatest!

Let’s begin.

SK-II is most famous for its magically ingredient Pitera, which results in 5 major benefits for our skin, refined texture, firmness, wrinkle reduction, spots control and overal radiance. Now to bring us the crystal clear complexion all day long, the foundation also contains concentrated Pitera. But it doesn’t stop here, there are 2 other main ingredients in charge of delivering even coverage and translucency along with a radiant finish.

Marine Sterol – Derived from species of seaweed from France.
Rice Sterol – Derived from Japanese Rice Bran.

The packaging is a heavy frosted glass jar with a shiny silvery cap. Together the foundation looks luxurious and feels smooth to the touch. Enclosed besides the jar is a white plastic spatula which you can use for hygienic purposes on getting the foundation out of the jar.

The foundation comes in 5 different color tones.

  • #310 Crystal Ochre
  • #320 Clear Ochre
  • #330 Radiant Ochre
  • #420 Clear Beige
  • #440 Fine Beige

The color we have today is 330 Radiant Ochre. The size of the foundation is 22 ml or 0.7 FL. OZ.

To use, apply a rice grain size of the foundation on the back of your hand with the enclosed spatula. Dab the foundation on the forehead, cheeks, and chin. Then spread it from center of face towards the outside evenly.

So when I first applied this, I found that its consistancy to be more watery than many cream foundations’ thick and heavy. It feels rather like a facial cream, very light weight and melts into the skin almost instantly. Because the foundation is infused with Pitera, you can smell the fresh scent of it but it’s very subtle. The foundation is highly pigmented so a little bit goes a long way. One spatula amount is all you need for the whole face. The coverage is light to medium but easily buildable. So start with very thin layer and gradually add more when needed. I like to use my Armani Blender Brush for an even application. But a wet makeup sponge, like beauty blender, also does a great job.

The finish is flawless and very natural looking. There is a subtle radiance that brightens up the whole face. And one thing that’s truly amazing about this foundation is that it lasts more than 8 hours without oxidizing and turning dull. Oil control is also fantastic, I only need to blot every 2 or 3 hours at current summer weather. Though I use setting powder to help my skin stay matte.

After using the foundation for about 2 weeks, I notice my skin is more hydrated, looks smoother and pores are tighter than before. Since I haven’t changed any skincare regiment lately, it must have been the Pitera and other ingredients working in the foundation.

The foundation, proves to be the perfect marriage of skincare and makeup. It’s a luxurious experience between protecting the skin and perfecting a canvas. When you really need a tiny bit of product each time, this little jar will last for a very long time. And the radiant flawless finish is unmatchable.

This sounds amazing! I’ve seen reviews on the skincare and they seemed to make skin looking radiant and healthy but the price is too expensive. the whole skincare line cost more than a thousand in my country! this product i consider as great value since it gives the benefits from a moisturiser too. i wonder if we have this in Malaysia. I’d love to try one.
