Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani Sheers Lipstick 300 Acid Tangerine, 500 Ecstasy and 600 Bitten Swatches

Giorgio Armani always stands out with bold, sexy, and daring lips. Whenever I think of red lips, I naturally reserve a spot for Rouge D’Armani. Recently the brand launched a new lipstick line called Rouge D’Armani Sheers. While giving them a test out, I find them rock and roll!

Compare to the pure glossy black box for the regular rouge d’armani lipsticks, the Sheers looks more like a preview of the lipstick tube inside. It’s got the Armani brand logo on the front with a thin silver line wrapping around it.

The lipstick itself looks almost the same as the rouge d’armani, classy and sleek, with only one exception of the silver line connecting the GA logo. The asymmetric soft curved oval shape adds a bit of sophistication to the otherwise powerful design. There is no buttons or pulls on the tube, instead it uses magnet with a click for closure.

The whole line includes a total of 12 brilliant shades divided into 4 color families, oranges, reds, pinks and purples. Today we have 300 Acid Tangerine, 500 Ecstasy and 600 Bitten from orange, pink and purple respectively.

These new rouge d’armani sheers have gained a new color formulation process with a new component, Color Shine Moisture Polymer. What the component can do is holding up to twice the volume of water while enhancing color luminosity. Moisture is also locked in on the lips for over 8 hours.

From bottom to top the colors are as follows:

#300 Acid Tangerine – Bright peachy orange.
#500 Ecstasy – Hot pink.
#600 Bitten – Plum magenta.

Here are the lipsticks in in the sun. The colors look more lively and vibrant with its adaption to light. The cool blue tone in 500 Ecstasy shows up much better when reflecting sunlight.

From the above photos you may think the colors are a bit too bold and vibrant in the tube. Hey don’t be scared by how they look in the tube. They actually go on quite soft on the lips. There is pigmentation but in a translucent way. The formula is non sticky and ultra lightweight that you almost feel like wearing a lip balm. The creamy texture also provides intense moisture that lasts for hours. Even though the coverage is sheer but the color doesn’t fade or slide off of lips, so the longer it wears the more natural color it looks. As I’ve been wearing these three colors in the past few days, they did last more than 6 hours on me which was the limit that I wear a lipstick. I assume they would last much longer if I didn’t have to eat and drink.

Swatched below are from indoor lighting and flash lighting. The colors from left to right are Acid Tangerine 300, Ecstasy 500 and Bitten 600.

Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani Sheers are soft and subtle in color, yet ultra moisturizing and long lasting. It’s everything you desire for a pop of sheer lipstick. The color looks bold but still wearable, great for spring but fit for all other seasons. The variety of color selections guarantees a favorite for everyone. Overall it’s a great addition to the Armani lipstick line and must try lip color for the season.

I thought these were really sheer when I saw the title, but it seems that the color payoff is quite bold.
