Givenchy LE Prismissime 9-Colors Eyeshadow 61 Acid Lights Swatch and Review

After having constant weird cold summer days, the weather finally became hot. Don’t you just hate the inconsistency of the weather? But who cares! It is an excellent time to introduce a vibrant and upbeat palette for the summer.

Trick Question! Which brand holds this symbol… ? Does the logo ring a bell to you?

The one and only unique logo belongs to the House of Givenchy. The vibrant palette is the limited edition 9-color eyeshadow for Summer 2011. Pretty eye-catching especially with an orange symbol in the middle of the box.

The back of the box shows an illustration of how the engineering of the “clap & slide” case works. Ingenuity at its best!

Just in case you missed that on the back of the box, there’s the same illustration showing when you opening it. I guess Givenchy wanted to emphasis how important it is for us not to miss out on this remarkable invention.

Oh I almost forgot to tell you the full name of the palette. It’s called LE PRISMISSIME YEUX, 9-Colors Eyeshadow 61 Acid Lights. I thought the proper grammar is either 9 colors or 9-color. Hmm am I right or wrong?

Anyway the packaging of the palette is simply gorgeous. Orange and black may seem Halloween but I’d take it no matter what. Hey it might even work for Halloween now that I think about it.

Upon doing the “clap” part, the palette reveals, 9 vivid neon shades in a 3 by 3 layout.

First row: orange, ocean blue, sky blue
Second row: fuchsia, white, yellow
Third row: lime green, teal, copper brown

The palette is quite shimmery in the sun.

If you wonder how big the palette is, let me show you a comparison to the Doctor White Light & Glow. The compact cases are the same in size. The total weight is also the same 4.5 g. I think it’s pretty standard.

Finally let me show you some swatches.

Orange, ocean blue, and sky blue

Fuchsia, white, and yellow.

lime green, teal and copper brown.

These shadows look quite vivid both in the pan and on the skin. The color choices that were picked really represent the summer from symbolically representing coconut, water, sun, trees, and I can go on and on with imagination… I was quite surprised to see how pigmented they are because all the swatches above were done with just one swipe. The colors can be used boldly almost like face painting. The texture as you can see is very smooth and blendable. All of these come at a $62 price tag for these gorgeous 9 colors…. expensive or versatile?

Super pigemented! Love the white shadow! : D But it’s definitely not a palette I would buy. Most of the colors are rather useless for everyday wear for me >_<"

I have all those colors as well, Honestly the thing that draws me to it the most is the matte white, it’s so pigmented! Hahaha. I suppose I could just invest in a good white shadow and not buy a palette for that sake alone. The design of this reminds me of the NYX smokey eye palettes, especially wtih the pully drawer.
