Hello Kitty Memoirs of a Kitty Palette

Who can resist a cute kitty named Hello Kitty? She’s back this summer with an amazing collection, Memoirs of a Kitty. There’re a bunch of adorable items including makeup bags and notebook. But today I’ll show you the must-have palette adorned with cherry blossom print.

Unlike the previous 2 Say Hello palettes which have 4 eyeshadows and 4 lipglosses, the Memoirs of a Kitty palette has 4 shadows and 2 blushes. With all the products being powder, you don’t have to worry about cross contamination or that sort.

Even the packaging is different from the regular palette. This time HK got herself a jade bow on her head that matches her cherry blossom dress so well.

Upon opening the first tier, 4 new charmmy shadows reveal. They’re all neutral tones that are great for both day and night.

The 4 eyeshadows are: pearlized pink beige, pearlized tan, pearlized honey and sparkling brown.

This is what the shadows look like in direct sunlight.

Except the brown shade in lower right has visible shimmers, the other 3 are rather dewy and sophisticated.

The 2 blushes are also super wearable. Peach and rose are probably the most flattering blush colors out there. They’re great complements to the 4 shadows. Sadly my peach blush was cracked when I received it.

Since both blushes do seem to have visible glitters, I doubt they’ll be dramatic on the cheeks. This is a photo taken in direct sunlight.

Let’s go ahead and see the swatches. On the left side are the 4 eyeshadows. They’re swatched accordingly to the position in the pan.

I was quite happy with the texture and color payoff. All 4 shadows are velvety smooth, glide on seamlessly. They’re not the most pigmented shadows but they’re not sheer either. I really love fact that there’s zero fallout even with the sparkling brown. Staying power was great too. I’ve had these shadows on for a whole day, no smear no budge.

The 2 blushes are even more pigmented than the shadows. They do share the same texture of velvety smooth. With the help of a blush brush and light hand, I was able to achieve a healthy glow with both shades.

This is a true collector’s item for both Hello Kitty fans and makeup fanatics. The packaging is adorable which I don’t mind paying extra. The quality inside of the packaging is also amazing. Not to talk about the natural nude shades that you get to use day after day and night after night. I only wished there were some applicators/brushes embedded into this cute compact, coz I want to take this Kitty out with me! She’s just too cute to stay at home.

I love the neutral shades and the blushes look sweet (cutesy and innocent.) It is a shame there are no applicators!
