Hello Kitty Spring 2012 Mon Amour Eyeshadow and Blush Palette Swatch and Review

Everyone’s favorite kitty is back. This time she is out and about on a tour in Paris. Looking cuter than never before with balloons, she is on a whimsical tour around the Eiffel Tour country. Hello Kitty’s balloons are also eyeshadows and blushes for us to use! Let’s join her.

Mon Amour Palette is limited edition and it is sold for $42.00 only at www.sephora.com and Sephora stores.

The palette is made like a hardcover book, a story book that you find in the kids area at a bookstore. You might notice the 3D balloons that Hello Kitty is holding; those are just colors of the inside makeup. I originally thought that it was plastic shields covering up the colors. Instead it is just a replica of the colors inside.

Underneath the balloons is Hello Kitty and her travels in Paris. It is quite comical but also drawn quite well. On the side of the palette is a binding of Hello Kitty. The whole palette is made pretty sturdy.

Once the palette is opened up you would notice that on the left side is a jumbo sized mirror along with the colors on the opposite side. So now you know why those plastic covers depicting the colors is really just another art for show in 3D.

Here are 2 snapshots of some details of the mirror and a snapshot of Hello Kitty on the opposite side.

The colors themselves are pretty girly and cute. Nothing too dark or fancy just pop like.

On the back of the palette are the color names of each of the balloons. Here is what it says:

Eyeshadows:

Passion Fruit Macaroon (shimmery lavender purple)
Jardin (matte turquoise blue)
Fleur de Lys (iridescent deep purple)
Parisian Pink (matte rose pink)
Pistaschio (golden soft green)
Croissant (golden vanilla)
Lemon Meringue (matte butter cream)
Eiffel Tower (golden grey)

Blushes:

Rasberry Macaroon (hot pink)
Strawberry Macaroon (peachy pink)

In the last picture of this series you might notice an Eiffel Tower sticking on top of the bar code. I noticed that whether you’re on the front cover or on the back or even in the middle there is an Eiffel Tower on each side.

Here is a swatch of the eyeshadows. As pigmented as it can be the colors are smooth and easy to blend. The colors are really versatile too, some are being matte and some are shimmery.

Finally, the blushes are swatched heavily and blended out side by side. With two choices, you  can have a hot pink or a more subtle peachy pink.

Hello Kitty Mon Amour Palette has a really cute little girl’s book art design. The 3D balloons on the front really caught my attention. Each color is well pigmented without feeling chalky. You get more than a single choice but if there were added balloons for lip color this palette would have been a truly all in one. But still for the price, you can’t go wrong with it.

A shame since they seem to make my eyes look smaller rather than bigger 🙁
