How Often Do I Clean My Makeup Brushes?
I think it really depends on what type of brushes we’re talking about here. Not only natural or synthetic bristles make a difference, a brush used for liquid or a brush used for powder also should not be treated the same. I do like natural bristles in general. Normally they’re in better quality and more expensive than synthetic ones which last shorter and harden over time.
For foundation and concealer brushes (I have 2 of them, both are synthetic), I always wash them clean before next use. It’s too risky to use a dirty brush for my sensitive skin. I find that too much of a hassle so I don’t use foundation brushes as much. Instead I use my Beauty Blender or Three Beauty Sponge most of them time. I also wash them every time.
For eyeshadow and other powder brushes, I wipe them clean on a tissue paper each time. Since I don’t put on makeup everyday, I wet wash them every 3 to 4 weeks. If you do makeup everyday, you probably need to wash them every other week. You really don’t need to wash them too frequently as it will damage the brushes.
So how often do you clean your makeup brushes?

One great tip for washing synthetic brushes caked with makeup is to use olive oil on them. It completely breaks down the makeup and even the dirtiest of brushes come clean.

so genius! going to write this down!
am pretty lazy when it comes to cleaning brushes! i use sponge 2-3 times before i threw it away (use different sides of the sponge, of course). Blush, contour and loose powder brushes, maybe once in 2 weeks.
i clean all my brushes at least twice a week, for foundation and blush brushes i try to clean them every after use or once in two days.
I shampoo my brushes every week or every 2 weeks. I find that works the best for me.
