Jill Stuart Makeup Summer 2012 Playful Summer Collection Swatches and Review

With dazzling looks of a princess that is ready to hit the outdoors of summer, Jill Stuart never stops creating the look that is both unique and sparkling. Colors include a mixture of different toned pinks all the way to a light refreshing blue, the variety is just so well orchestrated.

Enter: Jill Stuart Summer 2012 Playful Summer Makeup.

Starting off the summer collection is Jill Stuart Jewel Crystal Eyes in 08 Shangrila Crystal. From interior to exterior, the design from the palettes are always so princess-y. If you look at the shadows inside you will notice that they are made into gem like shapes that look dazzling.

Vivacious crystal pink & crystal blue, like flowers that could only bloom in paradise.

The colors from this season is quite refreshing where you have the pinks to the chilling blue and the earthy mauve color. As always, the palette includes a dual-tip applicator for you to use whether at home or on the go. Each color is enriched with crystal powder for an extra shine.

This eyeshadow palette comes with the following colors:

Far Left: Vivaciously Sparkling Baby Pink
Center Left: Sherbet Pink
Center Right: Peppermint Blue
Far Right: Mauve Grey

While swatching the colors I noticed that they are quite light and airy. The shadows are smooth and glide on effortlessly. All 4 shades contain translucent sparkles that give the shadows a crystal like shine. No matter at which angle, your eyes twinkle like they were touched by the summer fairy’s magic wand. Although I do like the pink and blue combination, my favorite shade is the mauve gray on the far right. When I use it as an eyeliner on my lower lash line, it accentuates the eye shape really well without looking too harsh, and the shimmers are super dazzling.

Here is a close up shot of the colors. The crystal powders details are seen more easily.

Next, we have Jill Stuart Mix Blush Compact in 14 Latana Honey. Looking at the blush, you could see that the design is made in a shiny silvery packaging just like the eye shadow palette above. Attached to the palette is a chain for the retractable brush that’s made with an 100% natural goat hair. Both sides of the chain can be detached for your preference.

Tropical color, like the honey gathered from a multitude of different lantana flowers.

When you open the blush, you will notice 4 different colors. The way you would use this blush is blend the four different colors to create a unique shade. You can also use them individually. Being a limited edition, there’s a silvery overspray on top of the blush that disappears with one swipe.

Each color is quite vivid and lively for summer. The colors are as follows:

Top Left: Creamy Baby Pink
Top Right: Light Pink
Bottom Right: Vivid Coral
Bottom Left: Hot Pink

Here are each of the shades swatched prior to blending them in clockwise direction starting from top left. The colors each have subtle shine to it which aren’t chunky glitters. Instead they are pure crystal powder. Something that evokes a more direct shine for a balanced look. You will be able to see the look next in the blended picture.

When 4 shades evenly blended together, you get a soft girly pink that’s perfect for summer. As I mentioned earlier, the silvery overspray will disappear upon use, the swatch on the right side is with the overspray and the swatch on the left is after the overspray wears off.

The blush itself is ulta fine and melts into the skin like the color comes from within. It not only glides smoothly across the skin, it also produces an even look with healthy glow. Lasting powder is amazing, there is no need for reapplying.

Finally, we have the Jill Stuart Lip Jewel in 17 Apricot Jade.

A cute coral pink, reminiscent of sweetly acidic apricots.

The top of the cap is the signature design of a princess cut Swarovski crystal in the color of pink.

The body is in the shape of a brilliant rose.

This lip jewel brings in the color coral pink mixed with apricot tones and florescent violet. There are super fine silver shimmers scattered all throughout. The effect gained from the this lip jewel is gel like bringing smooth coverage along with full lips. The emollient formula application also keeps the lips soft and moist.

While looking at each color, I noticed that they evoke the inner feminism out of us. Colors are very girly but refreshing to a sense that it is not all one big pink. The variety from the Peppermint Blue and the blended blush look make the colors so appealing after they are drawn on the face. This is not just any summer makeup collection, it makes a truly playful summer.

I have yet to get my hands on a few JS stuff. I love the princess design on them.

They sell them online if you aren’t in Asia. I think a few stores sell them.

It is very princess like. Design wise it looks just like a jewel wand.
