Jill Stuart Summer 2012 Patisserie Collection Swatches and Review

Souffle, custards, cakes, macaroons, and other sugary sweets can all be found in a Patisserie shop. They are usually tasty and addicting. I remember eating at a local sweet shop / bakery. They have these wonderfully tasting desserts that just can’t be put down after you first picked up. Though, I am afraid of cavities.

Anyways, Jill Stuart Summer 2012 Patisserie Collection comes complete with sugary dessert like names and theme. Even the shades represent some of the desserts! What is even crazier is that the scent on these contain something sweet that you will ask for more.

One thing that is very noticeably different in this Patisserie Collection is that the packaging and case design are all in white. No more pink or silvery like colors. Another thing that I noticed was the hearts on the packaging now have colors that represent the gem stone color inside. It is color coordinating!

For Jill Stuart fans and lovers, the packaging design on the mix blush compact is as always the signature look. The only difference is what I have noted above in relations to the color of the packaging. Take a look at the photos below then you will know what I mean.

For the Mix Blush Compact, we have color 108 Berry Tiramisu. Just a quick simple look at the blush colors do remind me of the wonderful dessert. It is filled with raspberries, strawberries, coffee, and a bit of Grand Marnier.

The blush comes in the following four colors going clockwise starting from top left quadrant:

Pale Pink with subtle shimmer
Milky peachy pink
Tiramisu brown
Rosy pink with subtle shimmer

I have swatched each of the colors for you so you can see how they look one by one. The far right is the blend of all the colors together. What is obtained as a final result is an innocent pink with a princessy glow.

When I first got the Sugar Glitter Eyes, I mistaken it to be a lipgloss. It looked so similar to a lipgloss packaging. Luckily, the word, “Eyes,” made me realize it wasn’t for the lips. The “eyegloss” that I will be showing you today is 05 Caramelized Sugar. Caramelized Sugar so reminds me of ice cream especially the Caramel Sea Salt topped ones.

“Liquid eye color blends smoothly to adorn eyelids with a frosted shimmer and glow.”

The bristles or rather the applicator is soft and efficient. It gives you a nice even application. As for the color, it is a warm beige with golden shimmers. When you apply it on the lid, there is a cooling effect. The color though looks cool and stylish especially for the late Summer time, almost a bronze color / effect.

Probably one of the cutest looking product in the collection is the Custard Lip Pot. It reminds me of sweets in a jar. Except it should be more like custard in a jar. This product made me remember seeing custard for sale at Whole Foods, they come in these little jar / pots. Anyways, the lip pot comes in a twist off cap and the jar is in the shape of a flower petal shape in clear plastic material. There are a total of 5 colors in the collection, today we’ll show you 05 Orange Custard.

Milky, semi-matte color glides on with melting comfort. For softly tinted lips in sheer sweetness.

Finally, we have both Caramelized Sugar and Orange Custard swatched. The left swatch is Caramelized Sugar on initial application. It is creamy and smooth. Not to mention it blends effortless. The center swatch is the eyegloss evenly blended throughout. It essentially becomes a subtle color with dazzling shimmers. Finally, the far right is Orange Custard. Creamy as it melts, the color glides on so easy.

Aside from the wonderfully cake and confection like colors and names, the scent on these is remarkable. You might even crave for dessert after applying them! It is in a wonderful sweet custard fragrance. The formula and color pigmentation has been steadily perfected to the next level. Jill Stuart’s color scheme and differences in packaging design really refresh the brand’s products. It’s such a summer treat for all of us JS fans.
