Lancôme Supports Brand Ambassadress Kate Winslet’s Autism Initiative

Lancôme is thrilled to announce its support of the Golden Hat Foundation, a non-profit created by beloved Ambassadress Kate Winslet to raise funds to better the lives of children living with autism.

To support Kate Winslet’s inspiring philanthropic endeavor, Lancôme has worked with her to create a stunning holiday collection that brings to life the spirit and message of the charity. In addition to this awareness-raising holiday collection, Lancôme will donate 150,000 Euros to the Golden Hat Foundation.

I’ve been thinking about setting up this project for a long time, and Lancôme’s instant offer of support is a huge display of confidence and generosity,” says Kate Winslet.Lancôme has given me the strength to go all the way, and I know this will open many doors.

The Golden Hat Foundation was created by Kate Winslet to nurture and teach autistic children how to communicate more effectively in order to live richer, more dream-fulfilling lives. Funds support education, skills training and therapeutic activities. The Golden Hat Foundation takes its name from an Icelandic documentary Winslet narrated called “A Mother’s Courage: Talking Back to Autism,” also known as “The Sunshine Boy.” The piece documents a mother’s international journey to better understand her son’s struggle with severe autism. Keli Thorsteinsson, the child profiled in the documentary, writes a touching poem titled, “The Golden Hat,” and Kate Winslet was so moved by her involvement with the film that she was drawn to take action. A fundraising book project featuring celebrities who wear the golden hat in a series of self-photographs soon followed. The Lancôme Golden Hat holiday collection will launch in November 2011 followed by the publishing of The Golden Hat book in early 2012, with monies from both initiatives benefiting children with autism.

The golden hat and the rose on the lower right goes well together for the powder.
