Laura Mercier Art Deco Muse Illuminating Eye Colour Gilded Rosegold Gilded Platinum Swatches Review

So, I’ve written about the Holiday 2012 Collection from Laura Mercier. Both the Mini Lip Glace and Mini Kohl Pencils were keepers. What could possibly be next? Something new obviously…

Today, I will be featuring two colors today from the Art Deco Muse Collection. For those of you who don’t know what Art Deco is, it is actually a decorative architecture, style and mood from the mid-1920’s in Paris. Woven Art of Beauty from earlier this month, was about these two wonderful creations.

First of all let’s take a look at Gilded Rosegold. When it comes to rosegold, I think of so many things in jewelry. Things pop to mind like rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, etc. The color also gives off a very golden like color with warm tones.

The design of this eye color is absolutely stunning. It is like a woven jewelry of fine rosegold threads. Mesmerizing! Just by looking at the pan itself, it’s already illuminating and shimmery. Easily put, it is eye catching.

Before showing you how the swatch goes, we will take a look at the other color, Gilded Platinum.

Unlike the rosy colors of the Rosegold, this one is brighter in color and holds a true platinum shine.

Each eye color boasts a multi-dimensional finish. If you look at the swatch, you can see a luminous pearly appearance with enhanced pigmentation. The shadow texture is buttery smooth and silky soft. When I applied the colors on, I found a very soft appeal that immediately melted on my skin. The colors also bring a soft metallic effect.

Laura Mercier’s Gilded Eye Colors are true in color and also long lasting. These colors last up to 8 hours and are crease resistant that will not fade. Both colors are really bright and shiny when hit by light, thus are very highlighting for the Holiday. Though, you could wear these on for a New Year’s Bash!

Laura Mercier Gilded Eye Colors are available at Laura Mercier and Nordstrom.

If you are very cool-toned, Gilded Rosegold may make you appear ill. I found that out after I decided to buy this one and discovered it is very orange-based (orange copper more than rose copper). I still like it, but I use it very sparingly. I add it to the middle of my lid over another color just for accent. It’s not the rose gold that I was hoping for, but it makes a nice addition to my collection. I would, however, recommend it more for warm-based complexions.
