Laura Mercier Smoky Effects Mini Kohl Eye Pencil Collection Swatches Review

Over a week ago, there was a little teaser put up with some 8 pencils in shiny silvery packaging and caps. So you might wonder what they were exactly? Or maybe even how well does the pencils perform? I could say that it was a set of colors just like Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Eyes Collection except in a whole different look and feel.

To be exact these Laura Mercier Smoky Effects Mini Kohl Eye Pencils are easy to use and give a lot of color intensity. Also, before I forget, these act as an excellent stocking stuffer. The size on these and the amount of fun anyone would get is a great gift to have.

If you haven’t seen what Laura Mercier has been offering for the Holiday check out the press. These pencils are about the size of 1/2 the palm / finger of the hand. They are easy to grasp and can be put away cleanly with the cap back on. So no smudging in the drawers or mis-drawings anywhere. They are small enough to fit in any evening handbag, at the same time will last for quite a while.

Each of these mini deluxe pencils are 0.03 oz in size. The regular sized ones are 0.04 oz, which are just 0.01 oz more!!!

Laura Mercier’s 8 Mini Kohl Eye Pencils include a brand new color, Jet Black with 7 other favorites from the current line. The colors are:

Black Violet
Brown Copper
Stormy Grey
Black Gold
Black Turquoise
Black Navy
Antique Jade
Jet Black (Limited Edition)

Each Kohl Eye Pencil glides right across the skin easily and pigmented. They are capable for drawing fine lines and really dramatic winged eyes. The texture are soft so no tucking on the skin. You could feel that each of the colors is formulated with creaminess to it.

The diverse amount of colors you get from these eye liners makes the set an excellent choice for different looks during the Holiday season. Each of them can be paired with a different makeup variation. No matter which smoky eye color you prefer, there’s one liner already there in the set. They are less harsh than the Jet Black. But if you want a really stand out smoky black, Jet Black will not disappoint. By the way, the set sells for $48 which brings the unit price to $6 each. I think it’s a really great deal because I can see myself wearing all the colors. I also plan to stock up several of these so I can share the love with my friends.

How do these compare to UD eye pencils?

I was never a huge fan of UD liners, they tend to smudge on me. But I do like MUFE liners and these Laura Mercier ones are pretty much similar. If you do a lot of smoky eyes, you’ll like them.
