Les Aquarelles de Chanel Collection Ombres Tissees Iridescent Effects Eyes and Tendresse Swatch – Updated with Swatches and Review

Updates: 8/12/2011 Ombres Tissées Palette SWATCHES and REVIEW added. See updates here.

Les Aquarelles de Chanel has hit the stores here in the States! I finally got a hold of the Ombres Tissées Palette and the nail polish Tendresse. Both items are limited edition. Take note that the 507 Tendresse nail polish is a relaunch from Spring 2010 Les Impressions Collection.

According to the box, Ombres Tissées is an iridescent effects for eyes and the colors are beiges.

Here is the back of the box explaining what are the ingredients that make up the palette.

The palette also comes with a retractable sponge applicator and a velour pouch embossed with Chanel’s logo!

The applicator is in a comfortable size when put together. The palette itself looks just like a regular Chanel palette.

On the back of the palette gives us a small illustration on the bottom right on where we should apply the palette.

Let’s start off exposing the palette under the flash. It looks extremely shimmery.

There’re 3 colors in the palette, ivory, beige and pink. The next 3 photos are taken under natural lighting.

Without the flash, it’s still very sparkly.

The detailing is incredible especially how well the palette is made.

Here’s the palette under sunlight.

The next few images are different angle shots of them under sunlight.

Next up we have Chanel Vernis 507 Tendresse.

The color is a sheer peachy pink that goes really well with the palette.

Our first swatch picture is the nail polish with 3 coats under natural indoor lighting *The Chanel fimo sticker didn’t come with any of the products, that was from somewhere else. It is applied for fun*. The color is sheer making the nails look healthy with a shine. The color gives off a natural everyday look which is easy to wear.

If you look at it with direct sunlight hitting the nails, you can see that the peachy pink color is a bit more noticeable now but nothing too flashy!

The eye palette is an extreme eye candy especially how well it is constructed and designed. The palette gives off a bright and iridescent look upon first glance. Unfortunately, I won’t be using the palette, it is going to go straight to the vault for keepsakes! Heck, it’s a collectors item! But you can see a swatch at Best Things in Beauty.

The nail polish is a really pretty everyday wear color. It goes on sheer but levels evenly and dries up flawlessly. I did have to put on 3 coats for the color to show up on my nails. The only downside is the drying speed, but a good fast drying top coat will give you a boost.

p.s. Let me finish up this post by showing you some pictures that I took today. This one is taken at Chanel boutique San Francisco when I picked up the palette and polish.

These 2 are taken at Nordstrom Chanel counter for the new Chanel Sophisticated Eye Collection. I’m personally interested in the lash curler.

This is the palette swatched in natural indoor lighting. From left to right are, ivory iridescent (top), beige pearl (middle) and pale pink shimmer (bottom).

Swatched in direct sunlight. As you can see, all 3 colors are quite luminous and the powders feel very soft although the finish is not exactly the same.

See the close up detail of the shadow texture below. Ivory on the left seems to be the smoothest out of the 3, beige is a bit powdery looking and pale has the most glitters. Note this is a really close up photo to show the nuance of the shadows. When applied on eyes, all 3 shadows are finely milled and velvet to the touch.

When 3 shades swatched together, it gives the skin a subtle wash of shimmer which is glowy.

Here’s another swatch on a piece of tissue paper so you can see the colors better. Top 3 colors are ivory (top), beige (middle) and pink (bottom). The bottom one is the 3 colors blended, which seems more like beige. That’s probably how the palette was named.

One last photo is how these shadows look on the swatched fingers.

Chanel Ombres Tissées is a gorgeous palette regardless the silver overspray will disappear after use. All 3 shades work seamlessly providing a luminous and radiant look. The subtle differences in texture made the combination even more interesting by adding dimensions and harmony to the eyes. The palette can also be used as a highlighter on the cheekbones and bridge of the noose to light up the complexion. $75 price tag sounds a bit high but for a Chanel fan it’s well worth it.

No, in my country the new collection isn`t in stock. But I do not think it would be mine because I have not the necessary finances (in January I will receive the first salary of my life – I am a student now).

You have a thing for Chanel exclusive items such as the Byzance collection and this extra collection 😀 Would love to see the ‘highlighter’ swatched, but I fully understand that it’s too precious (and too expensive) to use!
