Extreme colors and excellent color payoff are something that we always consider when choosing an eyeshadow. Abundant color selection and unique shades are also something that make a brand stand out.
Make Up For Ever is a brand that comes to mind when I choose color and pigmentation. Weighing things side by side, this brand has so much to offer. Their Aqua Cream color collection has gotten 4 new shades. #23 Acid Green, #24 Yellow, #25 Pastel Blue, and #26 Purple. Today, I will be featuring not only both #23 Acid Green and #25 Pastel Blue, I will also be showcasing the new Eye Prime Long Wear Eyelid Primer.
The Aqua Cream all come in a jar with a black screw-on lid. Make Up For Ever’s logo is also on the very top. Each jar is lightweight and easy to use.
The first color I will be showing you is #23 Acid Green. It comes in a bright lime green shimmer almost with golden duo-chrome finish. The color for some ever reason makes me think of avocados. I think it might be me eating too much guacamole lately.
Next we have #25 Pastel Blue. It comes in a light blue shimmer color. From outside the jar it might be mistaken to be either Play Doh or even Moon Dough. Both colors are super vibrant and summer like.
Aqua Cream holds the utmost quality pigments along with mother of pearl particles for the extreme pigmentation that it gives. These colors don’t crease or even smudge. They are waterproof and long lasting. So imagine even in the worst conditions, these colors will still stay and stick. Super color indeed…
The trick to the cream is to apply it with the fingertip or a brush whichever, but you need to make sure to blend it because the product sets.
What exactly is an Eye Prime? Simply put it’s a primer for the eyelid in a tube packaging with a doe foot applicator for easy dispense. It almost looks like a lip gloss. The products helps intensify the color of the eye shadow and reinforces the hold like Super Glue. I’ve tried several eyelid primers in the past but nothing holds eye color better than this. So even just for a few days, it has already become one of my must-haves in the makeup case.
In the swatch below, there is a set of 2 cream colors. The one to the left is without the Eye Prime whereas the right is with it. You can see that the difference is rather apparent. The colors with the Eye Prime are highly reflective whereas the one without are pigmented colors but in a duller way. Each color is very easy to apply and use without much effort due to the nature of the buttery smooth formulation. Finally, the Eye Prime is in a nude color. On the very far right next to the heavily swatched primer, there’s actually another strip of primer evenly applied. You can’t really see it because the color blended into skin tone really well.
Aqua Cream colors are intense in a crazy good way. They stick, last, don’t care of any hindrance or anything that gets in their way. They are tough cookies! Though, adding a bit of Eye Prime would brighten them up a lot more showing much more character. There is currently 26 colors available from this collection, which ones do you like?
