MAKE UP FOR EVER Highline Palette Swatch and Review

Last month on September 16th, Sephora opened a brand new store in New York City’s Meatpacking District. The store is very modernized with a lot of innovations otherwise not seen at a regular Sephora. In celebration of this new location, MAKE UP FOR EVER comes up with a limited edition palette called “Highline,” which is also the name of the one mile linear park where the store located at.

The palette is sold for $45.00 ($92 value) exclusively at the Sephora Meatpacking store and online at Sephora.com. In an almost square shape, the shadows are housed in a glossy black compact that looks very sleek and professional.

The opening mechanism is simple, just one botton on the front side beneath the branding name.

The palette comes packed with three Eye Shadows and one Diamond Shadow. The hues in clockwise direction from top left is Purple, Beige, Bronze and Copper. You probably already guessed which one is the Diamond Shadow just by looking at the photo.

Now let’s take a look at the shadows one by one. The first one we have is #309 Diamond Purple. Yes you guessed it right, this is the diamond shadow. It is a very intense purple with a lot of shimmers scattered all throughout. Even without direct sunlight, it already looks very sparkly.

Next we have #122 Metallic Copper. The rich warm hue adds a lot of flavor to the contrasting diamond purple.

Highline palette is not all about glamourous and rich hues, #126 Iridescent Yellow Beige is the perfect neutral.

Last but not least we have #84 Bronze. Bronze is not in the color family of copper or brown, instead it has a smoky green finish. Blending this with the other colors gives a dark smoky yet colorful eye.

I decided to add natural sunlight as a factor for you to see how the colors look compared to indoor lighting. The colors are a lot brighter now. Let’s go ahead and see each color by itself.

The shimmers on this diamond shadow really stand out now. You can see that there are abundant amount of shimmers overlaying the shadow making purple full of royalty.

Metallic Copper gives off a brown hue that is mashed into the color of copper giving this a much more earthier look.

Our next color, Iridescent Yellow Beige looks almost like a sand creme-y beige color which is almost like our natural complexion.

Finally, Bronze seems more olive here with the gold shimmers peeking through. The color reminds me of the Italian restaurants in New York. The olive is very iconic to me regarding this.

After swatching the shadows, I immediately notice how sparkly the Diamond Purple is. I am in awe at the starry silver shimmers. The entire palette itself is very silky smooth and highly pigmented. When the colors constructed together it becomes a very well balanced look.

Here is the colors with some sunlight.

So I decided to split up the colors into 2 each on my arm to show you a more in depth look. Keep in mind both photos are with sunlight. Diamond Purple and Metallic Copper by far are the most pigmented colors out of this collection giving off a mix between a cosmic and earthiness. The texture of the Diamond Purple is a bit dry due to the larger diamond shimmer particles, but there was absolutely no shadow fallouts. Metallic Copper has the most finely milled powders in the compact. It feels buttery smooth and glides on effortless.

These two are Iridescent Yellow Beige and Bronze. Iridescent Yellow Beige has a layer of pearlescent luminosity. It also has that buttery smooth texture but with more frosty finish. The Bronze is a dark olive shade with tiny gold shimmers that add a subtle smoky effect. Pigmentation on Bronze isn’t as heavy as the other 3 shades but it gives the room for layering and building up.

With these 4 eye catching colors put together you are creating the perfect look for strolling around in New York. Whether you are at a restaurant or a local hotspot, you’re sure to bring the Highline spirit and chic style to life in a new way which makes this palette a must-have.

I went to see the Meatpacking Sephora. It was crazy. It was packed but had a lot of areas that are not seen anywhere else from Sephora.
