Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation 118 Neutral Beige 120 Neutral Ivory Swatches Review
New year, new foundation, new look, more natural, and smooth finish is what can be seen and described toward Make Up For Ever’s new makeup item. Not only does it look sophisticated right out of the labs, it is also multi functioning. Knowing MUFE, there will be a whole array of colors for all sorts of skin tones.
So a day or so ago, there was the Daily Photo that showed a glimpse of this upcoming post. But what is the hype about exactly? This new Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation is not only multi functional, but also comes in 25 shades for you to choose. To simplify things, I will be showing shades 118 Neutral Beige and 120 Neutral Ivory.
The compact is in a dual tiered flip open design, streamlined and professional looking. Instead of the puff usually on the top or rather seen when the compact is opened, it is in an individual compartment on the bottom. There is also an air flow vent for the puff as you can see in the 2nd photo.
The case is compact enough to fit right in the palm of hand for precise application. A full sized mirror shows up when you open the case top, making touch up on the go at ease.
So what is all the buzz about Pro Finish? It is actually a buildable coverage foundation that can be applied both dry and wet. The dry application provides a matte finish. On the other hand a sheer and satin finish is seen through the wet application. Either way though, this multi-use foundation has a lightweight texture. So what I suggest for utilizing the foundation is to split it in half, one side for dry and the other for wet. You can also do the same for the sponge puff, though you should regularly wash it for maximum hygiene.
The difference in coloring between Neutral Beige (118) and Neutral Ivory (120) isn’t huge in the pan, though Neutral Ivory does look a tad lighter and brighter than Neutral Beige.
Now on to the swatches. The way to look at these is to cut the picture in half straight through the middle. On the left hand side we have 118 Neutral Beige in dry and wet. On the flip side is 120 Neutral Ivory in dry and wet. The colors might not look so differently in the pan, when swatched they actually quite tell each other apart. Neutral Beige sports a somewhat tanned look while Neutral Ivory looks much lighter especially when dry.
The application is smooth, even and effortless. Both ways seem to be natural on the skin. Coverage lies in between medium (wet) to full (dry). Personally I like to use it wet which really minimizes small imperfections on my skin, also giving me flawless sheer finish. On the days when I need more coverage, I will do an extra thin layer of the foundation dry.
So a brand new foundation for 2013 from Make Up For Ever is something that can give 2 looks for the product of 1, also the price of 1. Not to mention the application being so natural to the look… Though do take personal color match into consideration. When there’re 25 colors in the range, different undertones do make a difference. If you didn’t know already the MUFE mobile truck will be going making its way around the country and you can test this foundation then professionally matched by their makeup artists.
