It’s been a while since my last review post. Please accept my apology for not doing it more often. I’m also sorry for slow on communicating with my blogger friends and replying to your comments. We all know how busy it gets at the end of the year. Hope you understand.
Today I’m going to review the popular health supplement, Amino Collagen powder drink from Meiji.
I’ve tried both regular Amino Collagen powder and the Premium version. Both are available at Sasa.com.
I got the regular one in the can from Japan so there’s no english translation. As you can see, the powder will go with just about anything, coffee, juice, even yogurt.

The Premium powder is in a gold can. Enlarge the picture to see detailed information.
This is the side by side comparison of the nutrition fact. The only difference between the regular and the premium is that the premium contains 60mg Hyaluronic Acid and Coenzyme Q10 10mg per 7g of powder. I almost broke 2 nails to clean up the glue on the can. Blame on the importer for using such a strong sticker.
These are the measuring spoons that came with the cans. They looks pretty much similar if not the same.

Use the inside of the cap to level your spoon.
Now you have it, 7g of powder. That’s all you need for one day consumption. Enjoy!
Now move on to the review part.
Honestly, both have been doing a great job in terms of restoring skin elasticity and make me feel good. The regular powder has a little bit of weird taste and is a little harder to dissolve but still very acceptable. Especially when you drink it with coffee, that’s what I do everyday.
Both need to be taken for a while until you really see the results. It took me about 2 months then I noticed my skin texture got smoother, skin tone got brighter. It even helps my breakout scars to fade faster.
It’s no brainer that these collagen powder really works. If you want your skin still looks as good as now when you get older, you should consider drinking it. It’s always good to get the can first then buy the refills. That way you have a spoon to measure out what you need. Then get the refill, at the same price as the can, you get 2 days extra.
Does the premium version really worth the price jump? Well it really depends, but remember you get what you pay for. The regular is more than $10 cheaper than the premium. If you just want better looking skin, regular will suffice. But if you want more benefits including taste, you gotta go premium.
To end this review, let me show you some facts that I quoted from Sasa.com
Collagen holds the key to “youthfulness and beauty”. The amount of collagen in your skin starts to drop sharply after the age of 20. Collagen helps to restore skin elasticity and diminish fine lines. Therefore, replenishing generous amounts of collagen is a shortcut to maintaining a youthful appearance. Meiji Amino Collagen is made by high quality of fish collagen peptide, it contains very low calories.
The benchmark amount is 5000 mg, because about one-third of the amount of protein we need per day, one spoon (7g) per day is strongly recommended.
Meiji Amino Collagen Premium adopts the collagen derived from high quality fish. Refined with the latest technology, the Low Molecular Collagen Peptide is readily absorbed by human body. Convenient consumption as it goes along with any drinks. Each can (200g) is enough for 28-day consumption (7g daily).
Benefits of the ingredients:
Amino Collagen—enhances the elasticity and the moisture content of skin to smooth away wrinkles, controls sebum secretion and leaves skin radiant and firm. Coenzyme Q10—accelerates metabolism to maintain healthy skin cell, fights against aging. Hyaluronic Acid—enhances skin’s moisture capacity, leaves skin supple and dewy. Arginine—necessary for creating protein, maintain healthy skin. Glucosamine—necessary for creating collagen for youthful-looking skin.

Hi..
Is amino gold can suitable for 26 years old lady? What about men? Can they drink this product as well? What’s the side effect for new beginners when they start to consume this product?

Ooh thanks for this review! I’ve wanted to try a collagen powder for some time now, but didn’t know which one to get. Was afraid I would end up with something that made my coffee taste like.. fish or something.
lol. As soon as my makeup ban is over I’ll head over to Sasa or something. ^^
[Translate]
it doesn’t really smell like fish or anything bad. maybe a hint of creamer but you won’t notice it once you drink it with coffee or juice.

Huh, sounds interesting!

Wah thank you for this very comprehensive and helpful review, I’ve been interested in this product ever since Fuzkittie mentioned it. Ugh I hate sticky residue from labels haha. Does the regular Collagen powder taste funny or anything? I’m def. going to ask for this for Christmas. ^^

the regular one has a little bit of creamer taste but not that bad at all. the gold one is even better.

wow very to the point review. Thank you very much. btw i tried the white can when i was in Japan and bought a refill but i stopped when i got pregnant i was afraid i am not supposed to use it during pregnancy
too bad. now i wanna buy it again seems i will go for the premium one since i will be hitting 30 soon. (><)
[Translate]
congrats on your pregnancy! i’d be super careful during my pregnancy as well. i didn’t know the premium was for someone over 30 but overall i just think it’s better than the white can, though it’s more expensive.
[Translate]
I love this product! Like everyone else I had the fresh look without makeup that my sister envied!
The one thing I found out is that it not good to use more than a spoonful (found in the can) because it will make you break out! I am so glad that sasa sells it now! I can’t wait for my package to come in!
[Translate]
woooooooow good i want to try it how can i get it .is it healthy for kids under 7
[Translate]
definitely try it. for your question, i never thought of that and i really don’t know if it’s ok for kids. you should consult your pediatric before you give it to a kid.
[Translate]
hi im 23 years old so what is good for me the white or the gold?
[Translate]
Since your still young the white one is probably enough for you. It is also cheaper in terms of pricing. The gold one has COQ10.
