Fall is the time of the year where leaves wither, and winter comes around again. It’s like zeroing in closer to the end of the year. So many things happen during this time; school starts, fiscal year begins for a number of entities, and colors for makeup change. I know the last sentence kinda didn’t make all that sense but that is a glimpse into my life. A lot of things was happening or is about to happen. NARS, takes us into another world of color transitioning into Fall this year.
Starting off the collection this year is the matte single eyeshadow, Yamal. The color as described is a maple sugar color. Maple sugar reminds me of a rather sweet memory where years ago I headed to Vermont and saw the maple leaves falling off trees, that was also the first time I had a crunch at a maple sugary bear.
The other eyeshadow directly below Yamal is Namibia. Namibia is a lighter grey color where it can be seen with a bit of ashy in it.
Who doesn’t like the Larger than Life eyeliner? Especially when it is gold in color that dances to the light. This gold eyeliner is known as Las Ramblas. The color composition looks very rich while creamy at the same time from an up close glimpse. I love NARS’s design of eyeliner, the black smooth pencil is not only ergonomic, but rather PRO looking. This is especially true when I spin this eyeliner pencil around my fingers.
NARS Brow Gel in Kinshasa is something new where the tool tames and makes the eyebrows look uniform and groomed. The brow gel comes in a wand and brush design almost like a miniature mascara. After use though, the brows look more defined and fuller with a sleek smooth appeal.
Last but not least is the Brow Perfector Suriname. This nifty tool enhances the brow by creating lines, shapes, and arches anything for the sexy look. Combine this with the Brow Gel and the combination is killer!
Here is a comparison of all the colors from the products in this post. The single eyeshadow sorta looks rather subtle when applied dry. However they are buildable and can be intensified with a dampened brush, given the ultra smooth texture. Yellow gold color in middle is the eyeliner. I’m actually quite impressed by how water resistant it is. Not budgeting a bit by a splash of water, it can only be removed by a makeup remover. The last two are both the brow perfecter and brow gel in coordinating shades of black and dark brown. Each color is highly pigmented but depends on how they are being used.
This Fall 2013 collection, NARS is nothing but eye catching bold colors with matte finish that enhance ones natural facial features. It’s modern and elegant with a sultry twist. The dusky smoke theme works a great transition from the hot summer into the cold season. After seeing the fall collection, I am much wanting to find out what color spectrum NARS will end the year with? Hopefully a big bang!
